A great cable and a nice addition to my arsenal of computer cables.
I had doubts whether this cable would work with my video capture card, but alas I was proved wrong! Once I hooked up the VGA cable to the back of the tower and plugged the USB cable into the 3.0 jack on the back of the tower, then the HDMI cable into the HDMI input on the capture card and the USB of the capture card into the 3.0 jack on the laptop, it was smooth sailing from there and I saw the welcome screen from the tower in OBS. Great success and one I am keeping! Wonderfully made cables and great connections. Definitely served my purpose. Didn't use the audio cable as I had a mixer running through the tower anyway so that works just fine. Picture is a little small and sometimes lags, but that is ok with me for now.If you are looking to hook your 10 year old VGA computer to HDMI whether it's a TV, monitor, or a video capture card like me, the VGA to HDMI converter works well, just remember to plug the USB power cord into the back of the VGA computer and you're set to go! I am typing this on the VGA computer now. Thanks Onten for the great cable and Amazon for offering it. You guys are grand!

Works with limits.
Works like It is supposed to. Wish instructions came but I was able to figure out the set up. Doesn’t work for audio but that’s ok because I used my blue tooth speaker which has surround sound so I was ok. Netflix and Xfinity stream does not work with the product. Other then that Hulu, Tubi, Pluto TV work just fine. For Netflix I can see it on my screen and when I chose the show I’m watching but then it goes blank and only plays on my IPhone. Xfinity steam says within the app it can not play due to third party hardware.08/31/2020** UPDATE ** i had to lower my star rating for this product. the last time I used this was 8/17/2020 - I was able to watch some news from my phone to the TV. I tried to use it yesterday and it doesn't even work. I had it for at least maybe less than 1 month tops. Will NOT be ordering again.11/20/20 ** UPDATE **Ok i have to edit my review - I was gifted a smart tv from my co worker a few weeks ago, I still had this adapter so i figured i would try it out and see if it still works, It actually does still work, I'm assuming since my last tv was from almost 8 yrs ago and was NOT smart tv the cable was not compatible. But it does work, Just not again for Netflix nor comcast. But for Tubi/Crackle/Pluto TV it does work.

Does not convert correctly.
After 15 minutes of troubleshooting, I cannot recommend this product. While it is easy to use and set up (required only a restart to get all the resolutions working), it fails in its conversion. For some reason, the device squishes the picture and adds black bars to the side. While a normal user might not notice, anyone who spends a lot of time on the computer will immediately see how off the resolution seems. The build is...not great. The housing for the board is made of thin metal literally just slid together. I had the housing fall apart on me while trying to reseat the HDMI cable. It goes back together easily enough and isn't a device you'd be manhandling often but a couple of clips would've gone a long way.Picture quality is serviceable, though some apps are a little blurry. For the money, it might be worth it but I'd recommend shelling out the extra few bucks for a more solid option.

works great (just remember to use the USB power source)
This VGA to HMDI adapter worked great once I used the USB power source cord that came with it. But without the USB power source, the adapter alone did not convert the VGA signal to HDMI. And it also came with a mini plug for the sound for the HDMI, but I really just needed the picture.

Works for some instances
Used this for a old computer I was starting up. Worked great for getting into the BIOS/UEFI. However, it would not work for any of the DOS I needed to see while flashing LSI cards and booting. Tried powering through computer and externally and could not get this to work when I wasnt in the BIOS. Never tried with Windows 10 or MAC.

Good for a second monitor
I had a second VGA port for a monitor on a Dell Optiplex, other was DP and works like a charm. needed an inexpensive second monitor, old one blew. So no new monitor has any VGA and at best an HDMI thus this choice. It is important to remember that this is an analog to digital conversion in the device. Thus you may not get what you had expected. The device needs power, I used the USB port. No power no monitor. Second, I have audio on a separate device so no to worry there. Set up was fast, it works. Hopefully it lasts. The color is a bit weak and somehow the monitor is not recognized as a Dell. I suspect that this is due to the fact that this is a simplex connection, from VGA to HDMI. No way to get feedback to your PC to identify.Again and an inexpensive backup, I use if for email tracking while on main screen. not bad. Colors are off, tried to adjust but I will noodle it a bit more.Color control is a bit cumbersome. I tried to match color warmth and at times get screen blanking. But I will persevere.I have switched to a USB3 to HDMI interface which is much better. Clarity is improved and there was an annoying screen blackouts with this unit that would happen often and for reasons unknown. If you have a USB3 port then use it, if VGA on an older computer this may be your only choice.
