Silicone Mold Making Kit 66oz Platinum Silicone Rubber 15A Liquid Silicone Mixing Ratio 1:1 for Casting Resin Molds and DIY Jewelry Molds

I've had varied luck with other Silicone "kits" but this one, Shore Resin 15A 66 oz works beautifully!The problem with Tin cures is the 1 to 10 ratio, and other Platinum cures with the 1 to 1 parts A & B didn't mix properly.But this Shore Resin 15A was a success, EVEN with a Silicone color mixed in (about 1% color into the clear part B, then matching that weight on the scale for part A.)This was a sample pour with Selsil mold release sprayed a day ahead so it was dry and ready.After mixing A & B for about 5 minutes with a spatula and pouring into the mold it began degassing within minutes, with bubbles rising on the surface. After 3 hours it was done and the tool I used bounced on the cured, evenly colored surface. Even the trace amount left in the PLASTIC pouring cup came out easily without any mold release and showed the strength & elasticity of the finished product.This is the good stuff! The first big mold worked as planned, but I'm already on an improved version. The problem with that was in my design, which used methods based on the kind of mold you'd make if you were casting the item in Bronze.This is versatile material and doesn't need such a fussy mold treatment!The ONE BIG Issue I have now is the "push-down and twist to open" caps for the A & B. Sometimes there's not a good one in the batch but it gets through anyway. The cap for the A container FAILED, and no matter how I pushed or twisted just wouldn't go on, not to mention come off! The little wedges inside had gone smooth enough to not catch, so the only solution was to cut a slot on the side of the "outside" cap, pry it off the "inside" cap, and epoxy those two together. The other solution would have been to drill a hole through both of them (if it was stuck on the container) and put a 1/2" sheet metal screw through them, on the top, close to the edge for maximum torque (and even a 2nd so there's no way it could slip.)I understand the reason for these protective caps but that doesn't mean I can't hate them!

The media could not be loaded. I bought this not really knowing what to expect because there arent really any reviews but it works good. I made a silicone mold of my finger and after like 3 hours it alrrady cured. Prrttyy gud 👍🏻 I used some csort of clay moling to take the casting before I poured in the silicone and supprisingly it was really easy to do and I bet this would be good for other silicone molds as well just make sure you get the right 1:1 ratio. Originally it was clear but I put blue eyeshadow in with it to give it some color which I wouldnt really reccomend because it kind of clumped up at the bottom and let a hole in the top of the finger. Its a good product if your buying silicone for the first time and dont really have any experience like me. I actually baught this product with my own money and this is an honest review (not paid) It didnt really have a smell either. Atlease not to the point where I had to wear a mask. But maybe if your doing anything bigger you probably should. I didnt have any problems mixing or anything like that this was WAYY easier than I expected the box vame with a bunch of popsicle sticks to stir and even globes. They also come with 2 little cups for measuring but you should probably get some bigger ones unless your doing something really small like me. Other than that BUY IT.

Great product for what it is. The cured silicone was just a little stiffer than I wanted. I prefer for it to be a tad bit more flexible.

I used this silicone to make waterproof the inside floor of the cabinet which encloses my cats’ litterbox. It took about 48 hours to completely harden, which was longer than I expected it to, but the seal was watertight and hardy. I use a damp washcloth to wipe down the surface after vacuuming out the spilled litter and it has held up well for the past 2 months. I am pleased. Be sure to measure each of the 2 liquids out exactly equally though before mixing as my imperfect proportions may have been the reason for how long it took to set!

I like this product a lot. Made perfect molds

This is my first time using this particular product brand. Purchased it because of price. Not a fan of having both parts translucent but I took the time to be sure it was mixed very well. The openings to pour are too shallow and the product drips down th front when poured. Used plexiglass, made a very nice mold yesterday and did a castRemoving the mold to find small bubbles in the mold cavity. I have enough experience through working with resin on how to mix property to avoid introducing any air to a mixture. Made this same casting with a different brand without this problem. Wasted my time and materials with nothing to show for it but a mold I can't use!UPDATED 12/26/24Gave it another chance and followed the instructions again to the letter, another mold frame wasted. The product was warmed before mixing to be sure it was thin enough to degass and not as many micro bubbles but one large one but what was worse after two days the object being copied still had honey like silicone thatwouldn't cure yet the shell was firm. Luckily I was able to clean the object with an alcohol bath because It was a one of a kind. Unused product is on its way back, never to buy again!
