I bought these as a Mother's Day gift last year (2021) and my Mother loved them. She found the instructions fantastic and she had months and months of mushrooms growing. She loved them so much that she wants to buy more. I'm not sure if you save money this way, it probably works out cheaper to buy them from the Supermarket. But she thoroughly enjoyed the whole process from growing to picking and cooking. She also said their flavours were incredible too. So a great gift all round.

A pleasure to watch it grow & mushrooms flavoursome. Information needed after 3rd crop as the mushrooms plant is still alive. Do you add more soil ? Will there be more crops in Spring ? Can it be planted outside if so what conditions does it need ?

Bought this to help little ones understand about growing food. The tub with the white mushrooms was very successful and we have had one small and one much larger crop so far. The tub with the chestnut mushrooms did not grow at all despite following the instructions. Contacted the seller via Amazon who provided some advice but that did not work. Explained this to the seller who sent an immediate replacement with already growing (albeit very small) mushrooms. No quibbles. Good product, very educational for little ones and very quick to grow. Excellent after care service. Would definitely recommend and will buy from this seller again.

I had bought this the previous year with fairly good results. However, this one produced absolutely nothing. I had contacted the company who advised me to move it into a cooler temperature which I did but still, nothing. By the time I had done this it was out of warranty so I couldn't return it for a refund so I've tried a.different brand this year with much better results (Thompson and morgan)

These mushrooms were easy to grow and the instruction easy to follow. I had some on a full english breakfast, some went into a lasagne and i even froze some there were that many. They taste lovely and im now about to harvest my second batch with lots more about to grow.

Fun good product

The kits are easy to set up, and I have had several lovely flavoured mushrooms. But I wouldn't buy the item again, as I have had a kitchen full of little black flies. They are coming out of the compost used to grow the mushrooms, not pleasant. Have had to move the boxes out into a shed, which does get warm at times, so not sure they are going to be happy out there, and don't expect the mushrooms to do well there.

Bought these for Fathers Day (although I bought them well in advance). I had the white 'shrooms and my dad had the chestnuts. Kept them in my fridge (as the instructions says) and no, they didn't freeze. This is made very clear in the instructons.Took the chestnuts to my dad on Fathers Day and we both started the 'shrooms at the same time. Mine took around three weeks to appear and initially, I got two quite large mushrooms followed around a week later by a bumper crop. I'm already well into my third crop and I expect to be picking these by the weekend.As to the chestnuts...Nothing. Not even looking like they're going to grow. I've spoken to my dad recently, and although he's followed the instructions to the letter, he's not hopeful. I had a look at the tub and I can say that in my opinion, they're not going to grow.I haven't contacted the suppliers but I might as I have read the above reviews and I may be able to get a replacement.Conclusion...If you want to have a bit of fun growing mushrooms, buy one (or two) of these kits. I recall my parents buying me one when I was a kid and it was very enjoyable getting mushrooms to grow. But as these kits aren't cheap-and they may not grow-don't rely on getting loads of mushrooms.
