HULK rules
My son and his father are enjoying reading these every night. Great story line and vibrant colors. Books came with plenty of wrapping. Great buy!

The use of a different writer than Greg Pak was obvious here.
** spoiler alert ** The use of a different writer than Greg Pak was obvious here. It was to the point that, in the middle of the book I thought about how this didn’t seem like Pak’s great writing, I checked out the front cover, and sure enough, it was someone else. Red Hulk’s voice did not seem to be written correctly here. I’ve just read 3 Hulk books in a short period of time prior to picking this up, and Red Hulk seems different in this account. The only redeeming thing about the book for me was the fact that I personally was being filled in on history that I wasn’t previously aware of. Other than that, this isn’t a great book…it is just OK. To end on some good notes about the book, the mini-story about Red She-Hulk’s beginnings with the Intelligencia was entertaining, and, as with all the Hulk books I’ve read over the last two days, the art has been very well done.

Beyond the "Hulk Smash" mentality
Jeff Parker has raised the bar as with Hulk stories. I went through this graphic novel in one sitting when I saw the fantastic are by Carlos Rodriguez and Fernando Blanco. Jeff has a respect for Hulk's past and all the history during the characters 50 plus years. He created an intricate plot and characters that resonate throughout the Hulk's Universe. I never picked up an issue of Hulk in a very long time. I'd like to see more from this writer because he understands the complexity of the Hulk beyond the "Hulk Smash" mentality many writers have taken.
