They ended my pantry moth/cigarette beetle infestation easily.

I was absolutely losing my mind. First I thought based on a preliminary search that I had drugstore beetles, then upon further research (which I don't recommend if you don't like bugs or have an irrational fear, like me) after finding them in my red pepper flakes I figured out they were cigarette beetles. Apparently drugstore beetles and most everything else isn't into spice. Who knew?Aside from them obliterating my entire pantry, I was waking up to them crawling on my skin, in every single room of my house, bathroom, showers, no place was safe. My house was properly infested. I even found eggs in my lavender heating pad! They ate through the fabric and got in there. Atrocious. The [explitive] bugs would come out at dusk, just as I was preparing dinner, it was just too much.I bought these traps thinking they would work slowly on day as I was getting ready to make dinner. That was dumb, don't make my mistake, only put these out when you're away from the primary infested area. They started SWARMING towards the pheromones it was giving off. Needless to say, we ate Chipotle that night.These traps saved my life. It's been a couple months, so I waited before writing this review. If you have these bugs in your home, buy these, it's a cheap fix for sanity.Also, helpful tip, if they got into your grains (they got into my quinoa), freeze them for a couple days to kill them and the potential eggs and whenever you want to use it wash the absolute crap out of it. (I just couldn't bring myself to throw away a giant costco bag of quinoa.)

I purchased these for a beetle problem we are having. Our pest control service technician could not spray in the pantry for obvious reasons, but he told me to take everything down and inspect them one by one to find their food source. I did so and found several bottles of seasonings that were loaded, so I dumped them out. I read the reviews on this trap and decided to try it out. I was not disappointed. After putting them out, they trapped beetles by the following morning.I've noticed the amount of bugs dwindling but I keep the traps out anyway. They work well but I believe they only attract males. My only small gripe (as others have also stated) is that it does not tell you that you need to remove the plastic film over the sticky part. It's not a big deal, but they could have at least printed this on the outside instead of "ready to use."

I'm not sure how to rate this product's effectiveness. I had been noticing small bugs, what I believe to be cigarette beetles, in my kitchen so I got this to get rid of them. While it definitely caught a great deal, maybe 50 to 70, I still saw a few flying around every once in a while after having the traps out for about 12 days. I went through my pantry and three out anything that had one of the bugs on it prior to putting the traps out. But, my main issue is that the traps seem to have created a problem of attracting pantry moths that I hasn't previously had. I started seeing moths the day after I put the trap out and I thought it was odd that they just started appearing. I have screens on my windows so I don't know if I had the moths previously and just never saw them or if they just found a way into my home, somehow getting around the window screens. But the traps must have caught about 80 - 90 moths which is very weird considering I didn't have a pantry moth problem previously. The traps seem to have created a new problem of pantry moths for me and slightly impacted the cigarette beetle problem. Overall, it didn't solved problem and created a new one, so I can't possibly give it a good review.

I’m super satisfied with these. This is not a sponsored review and I’m a real person. I want people to know these traps completely eliminated an infestation a well known pest control company could not help with. I don’t know where our cigarette beetles came from but I found them in so many corners of our house.Our property management provides pest control from a well known company that starts with a “T.” We called them out and they identified the bug and placed some sticky traps that did absolutely nothing. They asked if we had pets and told me to check and throw out all our carb/grain food and spices. I threw almost everything grain/spice/candy related away, cleaned my whole pantry, and put new foods in sealed containers. We don’t have pets/petfood.Beetles were still flying and crawling around after all my cleaning. I hopped on Amazon and ordered these. My husband and I put them all over the house.Each zone we saw beetles in we placed one of these traps. Cigarette beetles are attracted to light so they were flying from our kitchen up in the landing on our stairs where it’s sunny and the hallway leading to our bedrooms. The kitchen had 3 zones. We placed one trap in the pantry, one on top of the cabinets, and another next to our dishwasher on the floor.(Check under your appliances especially if you rent! We don’t have pets but it turns out our dishwasher had pet food under it from a prior tenant that was a breeding ground for these annoying beetles. We cleaned those up but the beetles were still alive under the dishwasher in inaccessible places.)The traps took a 2-3 weeks to capture everything so you need to be patient and wait for their mating cycle to be disturbed. I’m so glad to finally have my house bug free again.Highly recommend trying this product in conjunction with a good house cleaning and pantry purge. Good luck!

What have I learned about getting rid of moths?1. Figure out what kind of moth you have. If you know what kind of moth you have, you're ahead of the game (pantry moth vs clothing moth vs other).2. Go broad and test. If you're not sure what variety of moth you're plagued by (I found it impossible to identify the moth type based on the ones I squished!), start treating for both. Moths are disheartening and awful, so I bought the top 3 pantry moth traps and the top 3 clothing moth traps, and put them on a weekly rotation to figure out which one(s) worked best. In my case, it was this product (Pantry Moth Trap by Pro Pest).3. Understand that placement matters. You're dealing with pheromones, so having too many traps in a small area (and having competing pheromone sources) can "confuse" the moths and make all the traps less effective. Also note that you can put the traps IN THE AFFECTED CUPBOARD. You know, get em at the source!4. When you find the trap that works for you - and you've taken care of the problem, leave one trap out in an inconspicuous area, to catch any new moths that find their way into your home.5. Pantry moths usually make it IN the house via food items from the store. To head off the problem before it starts, put any bulk items in the freezer for a week to kill any moth larvae. Then decant into airtight containers. Avoid cardboard boxes, open containers, and flimsy plastic bags.What about this product?PROS:- the WHOLE sticky area is impregnated with the pheromones, while other products only have a tiny dot impregnated with pheromones, that you place on the sticky section.- the assembly is easy - peel off the cover of the glue, seal into a tee-pee shape, and voila!- most effective (40 moths vs 3 moths) than any of the other products I tried. Caveat: see above about what variety of moths you might have.- non-toxic, no gassing the house scary stuff. The traps are pretty innocuous and go unnoticed.

They did trap a bunch of the drugstore beetles, but it was hit-or-miss. I'm not convinced that pheromones had as much to do with it as placement. We have four exterior doors at which beetles congregated and we put one of these traps at each of them. Two of the traps caught dozens of the bugs, but the other two only had a few even though the overall beetle population at the four doors was similar. One of the worst-performing traps was actually placed at the entry point (we found out later) for the beetles. You'd think the beetles come in the house, immediately smell beetle sex happening over in that tent and say "hey let's go check it out." But no they apparently preferred to fly through the house downstairs to the rear sliding door and get stuck in the trap down there. Probably our daily vacuuming eliminated many more beetles than the traps did, but they were somewhat helpful.
