I bought Tapioca few times before and I never had any trouble but this time when I opened the package I smelled this strong gas like odor.It was really bad.The bad think is you can’t return it.

Growing up in Brasil, beijus (think of a tapioca tortilla) were a staple!! I have managed to make them by reconstituting tapioca flour, but that is very labor intensive. This tapioca is like a Brazilian angel that visits my home! It helps kill homesickness and hunger in one shot. We now keep this stocked in our house so we can always make beijus.

I have bought different brands at local Brazilian stores and they all had this artificial, almost plastic smell and it drove me crazy. This brand is great, neutral smell and flavor, as it should be. I still pass it through a strainer to make it finer and it makes delicious tapioca wraps. I buy it every 2 weeks or so.

The Amafil brand is higher quality. This brand is not only clumpy but has unnecessary extra ingredients like citric acid and sorbic acid (read: corn). Not only is the full ingredient list not available in the pictures or description here on Amazon, but even on Alimentec's site they do not disclose it. To me this seems a little deceptive. Stick to Amafil if you want pure, hydrated Tapioca Flour.

I’ve been buying this product for a while and the expiration date is so close to the end, sometimes is only one month ahead, sometimes two months… my last purchase was the final one. The product came again very close to the expiration date and one of the packages was definitely expired, the smell was awful and so strong! I came to ask my money back and Amazon let me know that this store do not work with returns or replacements.
