2 yrs later
ive had this pen for 2 yrs. minor wear mars around clip. cap still seals well. how do i know ive sent it through the wash machine several times by accident! writes perfectly. light and comfortable in pocket. i am a mechanic so ive laid on it sat on it may even have used it as a pin! the pen is still working great.know for my one problem i tore the stylus end. not the end of the world but the reason i purchased this pen. i use the stylus on our HMI when my hands are dirty. so ive been looking for a replacement end and cant find one. Will be purchasing a new pen momentarily. yes the same one i broke. yes inspite of the one flaw no other pen i have owned has survived this long with the punishment i inflict on them.

Almost perfect, both ends should screw threaded
This is better than the atomic bear pin because this cap can be screwed on and screwed off. The only downside is they didn't make it so we can screw on to the other end when you're using the pen. So you have to either keep really good track of it, or cover the stylus tip with it and hope that it stays, or put it under the pen clip which makes it "interesting" to write with.TLDR: PLEASE DO BETTER. MAKE BOTH ENDS SCREW ON.

One of my favorite pens
I think I've purchased three of these, and sometimes I give them a gifts to friends. It's one of my favorite pens!

My all time favorite stylus
The stylus' replaceable tip is fantastic and glides effortlessly against my screen. The glass breaker is... well, a glass breaker. It does what it says, and if you clock someone in the head with it, they're going to run away crying, so, good defense tool. The pen insert writes great, or you can always swap it out for your favorite style or color. The threading and overall craftsmanship is solid, and the stylus is a good weight. Not heavy, not overly light. The clip is sturdy and removable. Some reviews I've seen on YouTube say you can rotate the clip 180 degrees so that it is on the other side, but they obviously didn't actually attempt this because the clip does NOT rotate. There is a groove that it slips into, and this does not work if you rotate the clip to the other side. When it comes to the clip, it's the stylus' way or the highway. That's actually my only gripe, as the clip is kind of in the way when using the stylus. The problem is one side of the stylus has a flat notch about an inch long where your thumb can rest comfortably. The only problem is the clip is in the way of the other fingers. If I could just rotate the clip, it would be perfect. You can remove the clip altogether, but then you run the risk of losing the stylus. One other thing, and this is just a nitpick, I guess, but the clip is not on the cap, it's connected to the pen itself. This means when you put the cap on top of the stylus while writing, the clip is in the middle of the pen with the cap jutting upward, and it just looks odd. Not a big deal, but not ideal either.Overall, I love this stylus and would recommend it.

Loooong Screw Cap...
As far as tactical pens go, this one is pretty good but could use some improvement. There is no cap on the back end covering the "glass break tip" which has a pretty sharp point. So, if you are used to using your thumb to "Click" the back of a pen open you will quickly get over it! I didn't draw blood but checked and then double checked. The other working end of the pen contains a stylus (not sure why I went for this pen because nobody uses a stylus anymore). I did test the stylus on my cell phone and it worked perfectly fine. To get to the ink pen tip you must unscrew the stylus end of the pen and trust me this is not a quarter turn, half turn or even full turn to get the cap off. You have to unscrew this thing like you're pulling a drill bit from a 5000 foot oil well. I do like the finer tip on the pen but the cartridge that came inside the pen hasn't been performing the best so I'm hoping that it's just a fluke and possibly a bad roller ball. The pen wasn't very expensive so I'm not planning to return it to Amazon but I can tell you that I'll be looking for a different pen that is more "functional and friendly" as a "PEN".

Better than anticipated
Purchased for each member of the family so this review is a compilation. These are the second kobuton that we've gotten so that we are able to make a better review.PROS1. Length is more comfortable during various uses,2. Weight is better balanced than a longer tool would be,3. Touch screen end is very nice as my device screens are cleaner AND is actually a protective addition for the thumb when using the shatter end4. Color choice of ink - I prefer blue - puts the user in charge of the item5. First thing I did was head to store to get additional refills that I strategically locate because I write a lot6. Side clip is snug but doesn't stick out to scrape and snag.7. Self-defense videos are free and helpfulThis isCONSNone yet
