Automatic prime, manual shot blaster with innovative attachments. Great performance with dry darts.
This is a motorized blaster that primes itself automatically and fires a single dart when you pull the trigger. It does not fire automatically so the maximum rate of fire would in fact be lower than a manual blaster that supports slamfire. This is not a bad thing in my personal opinion, as picking up and loading high volumes of darts from a fully automatic blaster is not my idea of fun.It uses standard darts, and it comes with a lot of them. It includes three M15-L clips, and accessories to attach the additional clips onto the blaster upside down. The spare clips are attached upside down so that you can reload them on the fly with darts from the ground. Therefore they solve the normal drawback with clip-based blasters, which is that you usually need to reload a whole clip at once, instead of adding individual darts as you pick them up.These clips are compatible with other X-Shot blasters such as the Long Shot, and the accessories are too.Since it comes with three clips and two clip connectors, if you have another compatible blaster then you can attach a spare clip onto it as well while playing with them both, which is really nice.It performs very well in dry conditions. Its shots seem to be more powerful than other blaster advertised as having 30m range and its accuracy is very good for a standard dart blaster. It does not jam often at all. However it the darts are damp then its performance dips badly. The shots are frequently weak and inaccurate, and it can jam. When it does jam, the jam can be resolved easily and without damage to the darts. Therefore it does not work great with darts picked up from a wet lawn, for example. We have quite a few different blasters and this is the first time I've observed this issue. While there is not obvious value in a motorized blaster with a lower rate of fire than manual slamfire ones, there is something fun about the loud whirring noise it makes, coupled with the more-powerful-than-you-expect shots. My kid loves it because of this. It works great for him because he is not strong enough yet to prime manual blasters of similar strength. (For the same reason, I wouldn't recommend this being used without supervision by a young kid or without proper eye protection because the darts do seem to fire a bit more forcefully than expected.)I've given it five stars even though it has this issue with wet darts. That is a clear drawback with it, but there is enough going for it that exceeds expectations in terms performance with dry darts, fun, value and the clever accessories.
