I've had a spirtle for years and use it a lot when making sauces and soups. Got one for a friend - was expecting it to have a curved base as the one I have does ... but it does function much the same and she was pleased with it.

I bought it as a wedding gift, as the person getting married isn't Scottish. I was given one by my granny many years ago and it's still used , I thought it was a lovely gift then and wanted to do the same for my colleague.

Yes I love it but I can only give it 3 stars as the third day of washing it the wood began to splinter and I had to pull it off in case I digested it in my porridge. It is fantastic for making my porridge so smooth and creamy.

You can stir your porridge soup 🥣 or anything that takes your fancy.It washes up well.Also a conversation starter, it’s just a stick after all.But a very useful one.
