Gardening Plant Soil (4 Quart)

I had 9 healthy Venus Fly Traps (some varying cultivars), each separately potted using soil from the 1 quart versions of this product, with no issues. For whatever reason though, after re-potting them using the soil from this version, they all slowly died off over the course of a few months. Every other Venus Fly Trap I have that hasn't been put in this soil is still alive and healthy. Maybe I just got unlucky, but it does make me question the quality control of this product.EDIT: I just remembered I now have a TDS measuring device, and checked the water pooled in the dish after draining through the soil. It read 124ppm, so that is almost certainly the reason. I've adjusted my rating, as while this is not entirely the products fault, it should probably state on the label that it should be rinsed if being used for carnivorous plants.As a warning to others: It is likely that this soil requires additional rinsing compared to the smaller product version (which required no rinsing as I recall).

I got this to replant a Venus flytrap in in an emergency. I didn't want to fiddle with mixing my own medium, and didn't have reliable sources available locally. Can't quite put my finger on where it went wrong, but it didn't hold water like the previous mix I used. The top always wanted to dry out despite being in a watering tray that remains half full. Also, the mix stayed very loose, bubbling up when it rains and overflowing repeatedly uprooting the plant. I eventually just pulled the trap and put in another pot where it's happy again.

Not sure how well I like the soil yet. I’ve had my Venus fly trap in it for about a month now and it seems to be doing ok so far but I have to water far more often I fell I should

It’s good potting soil but the 1 quart bag is so small , you can only repot a few 4” plants. I would recommend another product that comes in at least an 8 quart bag. Would not buy again because of size.

We got this for a Venus fly trap we purchased awhile back! Hope it helps it to grow!

My Venus flytrap has flourished since I placed it this medium and got it it off that mossy muck it was sold in. It bloomed twice and now it has lasted the winter and is growing new traps. Plus there is enough here for about 10 small plants

I ordered this soil and divided my Venus Flytrap. The plants are thriving and the soil seems to be perfect for them. How nice to have a soil that is specially mixed for these plants. I would recommend this product.
