I was looking for a small hatchet for a while and then I stumbled upon this product. I already own Beavercraft's carving kit, which I really like, so decided to give a try to the axe.Its compact size and lightweight design make it incredibly portable, perfect for carrying on long hikes or camping trips. It passed the file test easily and feels good in the hand. Perfect size for woodworking, camping ect. The edge protector is very tight and it does have a few bumps from the forging process but considering the design, quality and price, it’s definitely five stars.I always tweak tools here and there to make them perfect and this one requires almost nothing. I think the edge protector will easily “break in” and the small bump at the bottom of the beard will disappear with the first normal sharpening. Incredibly minor stuff. The core product is rock solid in design and construction.

My husband received one of this for his wood working craft and it is well crafted, well made axe.

The media could not be loaded. Love this hatchet! It looks great, the handle is comfortable, the weight, and balance is perfect, and the bearded design lets me choke up on it for great control when working on wood. The leather sheath and belt loop carrier appear well-made and sturdy. Great for bushcraft, camping, backpacking, hand-tool woodworking. The Beavercraft hatchet is now my EDC whenever I'm out in the woods. Great companion to my BC bushcraft knife.

It’s Beaver Craft what’s there bad to say?! It’s built like a tank, 90% of my carving tools are BC and I have had no complaints.

Handle feels nice in my hand. The leather accessories (belt holder and blade cover) are well constructed and adds a nice touch. The metal blade has a nice weight to it. I’m excited to start using it. I’ve bought cheap hatchets but this seems like it will last longer than those.

Excellent construction. Razor sharp out of the box. Will be very helpful in roughing out carving blanks. Short handle provides excellent control.
