Hi-tech AI tracking
This XbotGo Chameleon AI Powered Sports Action Camera is an advanced piece of kit that you need to pair with a smartphone. It is important to understand that although called a camera, it does not actually shoot any video. It gets paired with a smartphone that you mount onto the XbotGo gimbal, which tracks where the phone should recording. The onboard camera of the gimbal tracks the action with help from the AI software built in it and supported by the XbotGo app.The build construction of the gimbal is very good indeed. It is clear no expense has been spared on this, which combined with the advanced technology is reflected in the cost of the product.I'm very tech savvy and have decent photography and video experience so I was more than comfortable with the setup of this. I can see that it may be a daunting piece of kit for others but the setup guides you through it well. It is a product that you do need to test and experiment with the settings though but the results are well worth it.The tracking function of the gimbal works very well when tripod mounted and given a good view of the area covered. I have used it to track a full sized football pitch from a position on a gantry, which absolutely helped. It would not be ideal to place it at pitch level as there would be too many distractions running across the field of view. The recommendation is to have it at height, using an extendable tripod if required.Ultimately the quality of the video is only as good as the recording device used, i.e. the smartphone, but the tracking capabilities of the XbotGo are quite incredible. Given that it is very much software and firmware driven, I fully expect continual improvements as updates are released.A superb piece of kit that although is a significant investment, it will produce results.

Feeling Dumb.
Ok you can call me dumb now as I thought for the price this was a camera and not just a tracking Gimbal, now I wish I had not requested it and left it for someone who will really use it as I will probably not. I have an old phone which I do not use for video recording as it is a bit pants. If I record any video it is with a cheap action camera and that is why I thought this would be a big upgrade for me and I could track myself doing some building projects The product is very well made as you would expect for the price, but you will have to refer to other reviews for the actual operation, I really wish they did not have the word camera in the product description and just had tracking gimbal.

Niche, but worked really well
£330 at time of reviewQuite a niche product, but if this is what you’re looking for then this may very well be the answer as it works surprisingly well, but you need a good tripod, as it’s reasonably weighty and with a large mobile perched atop it will rock around on a lightish tripod, not saying you need a pro tripod, but something sturdy will work bestThe app is pretty good, takes a little getting used to, but nothing major, in general once you have this up and running you more or less leave it to do it’s magic… although there were a few updates required initially, which took a little time, but again, once done everything worked really wellThe tracking is surprisingly good, I’m amazed at how well tech like this can track people so well and distinguish a subject against over people running around nearby. Yeah there were few times when it lost the subject, but generally it locked on really well, so over all I’m impressedHope my review was helpful

Ok not great, hard to get a refund
This product didn't quite suit my needs, it isn't terrible, but didn't track the team well and needed too much manual intervention when I was trying to coach. Anyway, I returned the item, followed the process, still don't have a refund and the timeline for getting one keeps going back despite the tracking saying the product has been received.

Niche, expensive, and maybe superfluous to requirements
This is a bit of a weird device, in that it's basically just an auto pivot device for your smartphone. I can see how people are getting confused about this being the full package (i.e. the camera being built in) but the camera on this device is purely for the tracking. So with the above in mind, if you're going to want top quality footage, then you're going to want to use a top spec handset. You will need to find a good, elevated position to be able to utilise the tracking effectively. This is a double edged sword of a problem, as you may or may not have access to a nice central, raised point, and if you do, then you might be so far from the scene that the wide shots are "too far". The auto-zoom function can take care of this to some degree, but only if and when it works. You also need to hope that nobody gets too close to the camera to take its attention away from whatever it should be recording. If you're a sports photographer/videographer then you likely already have a "proper" camera. This won't replace that, but it could offer some additional "b-roll" footage.
