Hikvision DS-2CD2132F-I-2.8MM IR Fixed Vandal Dome Network Camera

These are super cameras. They may not be quite up to the standard of top-range professional gear, but they are superb for domestic/small business use.Installation is very simple. The instructions are clear. I used POE which has made wiring very simple (I already had 8 ports of POE on my switch so no extra expense there either)Image quality seems very good and the built-in IR capability is a real bonus. The cameras work at very low LUX levels before the IR kicks in, so to begin with you might think it's not working, but it is.I've got mine linked up to a NAS, so I've always got enough storage capacity to keep weeks worth of recordings.I haven't yet installed any memory cards in any of them as they're all outside up on the walls, so retrieving the card might be a faff!Read the forums about support from Hikvision which is patchy to say the least. However, that shouldn't put you off as the kit itself is well worth the money - and then some - and you're unlikely to need support in the normal cousre of events anyway.

I've setup this camera for use with ZoneMinder (a free linux based CCTV management app) using RTSP streaming. Unlike the previous reviewer I am not using the built in Web browser to view the camera image. I'm running it with Power over Ethernet which simplifies the connections (just inject power into the ethernet cable using a PoE injector). In summary I think this camera is great. It has a lovely wide angle lens which captures everything I need to. The night vision makes it look like daylight! I currently have the camera installed in the corner of my roof looking out over my driveway (with motion sensing recording provided by ZoneMinder). The camera construction is bomb proof! It comprises a very strong steel case with a hard glass dome. The 1080p picture is fantastic. I really cannot fault this camera for 100 quid.

Badly made and poor image I believe this was a fake camera. We have other Hikvision cameras and they are much better than this.So much was wrong with it I can't be bothered but do not be put off HiKvision we use many of them and they are our preferred camera.

Great camera and night vision good. Easy setup with Hik nvr. Only problem is with description of product. Says 4mm lens but in actual fact it's a 2.8mm lens which prevented 5 stars. Overall though good product.

Really pleased, I'm a bit of a novice at setting up cameras but this one seemed pretty easy after watching a few videos and the app is great. Since I have installed it I haven't had any problems and it's been very reliable. I will be getting a few more and would recommend.
