The words and phrases used make it easy to read and really bring out the story in the text. It is a pleasure to read. I have been reading it along side my NASB or my KJV Bibles and love the way language is used - I can't put it down.Some reviews suggest that the translation might not be solid because it is essentially the work of one person. Having read it and compared it to other translations I find it to be a really good version of the Bible. It makes the text readable and understandable and expresses the stories and material of the books of the Bible in a way that is passionate - almost like reading a good novel, you don't want to stop reading - I can't always say that about the KJV! As for how it was written, some of the best Bibles are written by one person - Ronald Knox (one of the best bibles I own - love the way he uses language, very readable), NT Wright, Robert Alter..... the list goes on. The passion Translation is amazing. Please read it.I bought the Burgundy large print edition. The book is well printed, nice paper (a little thicker than usual Bible paper), nice size text - I wouldn't have said large print, just very readable and a little bigger than most Bible print sizes. The cover is a form of imitation leather. I really like these covers, soft, flexible, hard wearing - I actually prefer it to the leather covers I have on my premium Bibles. The pages are well set out with space around the text for notes etc.A definite five stars.
