Ethereal Visions: An Illuminated Tarot Deck

A beautiful deck! Lovely matt cards stock with a good thickness and a lovely robust box too! The booklet is a little thin and just plain white paper but that's the only thing I can fault. The cards are quite minimalist in terms of the symbolic imagery, so may be hard to read for someone who is a beginning, but what is there is stunning.

Stunningly beautiful cards, that are elegant in design and simplicity. The gold leaf is subtle and yet striking...I have been using these cards since the day they arrived, and feel they are a wonderful addition to my tarot library of cards. Excellent!!

I want to start by letting you know that my photos do not do these cards justice at all, I have terrible lighting in my house. The most beautiful tarot deck I own, and probably the most beautiful one I've ever seen! The artwork is stunning, the colours are beautiful and every card has gold foiling used in a different way (though note that they are not gilded edges). The back of the cards is one of my favourite card backs as well, I love the design and the beautiful muted tones. The cardstock is faultless and I'm very picky when it comes to cardstock... They are really thick and sturdy and the perfect size. They would be really good for beginners as the images are clearly based off the Waite-Smith images and they have the card name written beautifully on every single card! No roman numerals or counting how many cups or swords you can see. They come with the typical white paper guide in the box which is nothing special. There's a description for all of the major arcana and a list of key words for all the minor arcana. But honestly I cannot fault this deck at all. It is just so easy to work with and at the same time it is utterly beautiful.

At first I wasn’t that impressed with the images as they’re so pale, and I have to really look hard at the card to see what card it is. But that’s probably because I don’t know the cards well yet. The more I’ve looked at the images on the cards, I’ve realised they are beautiful and makes me feel so peaceful/tranquil. I wished they’d gone the extra mile with these and gilded the edges - the cards deserve it. The card stock is good and they are quite large cards. Slightly bigger than my other tarot decks, but not too much larger to be a problem.

If you enjoy story telling tarot decks with detailed illustrations and lots of colour - this is the deck for you. Photos do not do it justice. The colours are vivid, yet subtle. The gold foil is also a lovely addition to colour (the edges are not foiled FYI). I really enjoy the illustrations and overall style, and the card quality I think is pretty solid. If the deck is taken care of (as all decks should be) they should last a while I feel. I connected straight away and as always I’m I’m drawn to the cups suit as a cancerian. But all of the cards are lovely. My last point is that a book is included. But it only gives short details of what each cards means. I would recommend buying a book that specialises in understanding and interpreting tarot cards for beginners.

A great deck, the quality is lovely and the cards are weighty and beautifully illustrated. The deck came early and in perfect condition. I look forward to learning this deck and seeing where it takes me.... enjoy ❤✌

got these cards a few days ago, and i felt an instant connection. they are honestly breath taking and i am incredibly happy with the purchase. the item came in about a week, as you can see from the picture the box was bit dented but this wasn’t really a problem for me. the cards are a little thin and will probably bend easily but i still really like how they are made. i will say that i wish there was more diversity in the cards as they are all incredibly white with the only non white looking character being the devil haha. this shouldn’t be a problem for most people but just something to keep in mind. Overall i’d say this is a really good purchase and would recommend if you can get over the problems i have laid out!

This is my first tarot deck and I must say I still think it’s the most beautiful tarot deck I’ve ever seen. Matt Hughes has masterfully crafted a world of ethereal beauty, drawing you into a realm where symbolism and imagination intertwine seamlessly. The quality of the cards themselves is commendable. However, one minor quibble I have is with the size of the cards: they can feel a bit unwieldy in the hands at first. Nevertheless, this is a minor inconvenience easily overcome with practice. To be honest I don’t use the accompanying 45-page booklet, because the interpretations are too short for me and as a beginner with tarot I need more guidance, but that’s okey I just google the meaning of each card.

Very pretty deck. A wonderful visual combination of gold foil across the imagery, the soft tonal pastel colours and the art noveau style design. It keeps very close to the Rider Waite Smith so good for beginners. Has a decent little guidebook. Card stock sturdy.
