“You might have encountered the ‘let them’ theory, inspired by the book of the same name by motivational speaker Mel Robbins. . . . Another book with a similar message [is] How to Let Things Go . . . . Perfectly designed for modern readers . . . it provides a deeply practical approach to life.” — Buddhistdoor Global Feeling overwhelmed? Step away from life's demands and free yourself up for what matters with this succinct and sensible guide by the Zen Buddhist author of the international bestsellers The Art of Simple Living and Don't Worry . Amid the relentless cycle of news, social media, emails, and texts, it can be hard to know when, if ever, you can take a break from everything clamoring for your attention. The internationally bestselling Buddhist monk Shunmyo Masuno offers a radical message: You can leave it all be, and, indeed, sometimes the best thing you can learn is how to do nothing. How to Let Things Go will teach you to: Lesson #2: Give people space—being caring and being nosy are not the same thing. Lesson #15: Remember that social media is a tool and nothing more. Lesson #19: Let a relationship come to an end rather than force it. Lesson #40: Think of letting things go not as throwing them away but as setting them free. Lesson #75: Make decisions in the light of the morning—don't rush into them. Lesson #90: Slow down and take more breaks. With these and ninety-three other practical tips, you can abandon the futile pursuit of trying to control everything and discover the key to a fulfilling social life; individual well-being; and a calmer, more focused mind. Review: Easy to read , enjoyable and practical - Easy and enjoyable read. Very practical advices. Loved it. I have gifted a few. Review: No nonsense guidelines for life - I found this book at my local Ollie's. I have been looking for ways to stop stressing about past incidents that have occurred in my life, like unpleasant interactions or past mistakes. This book gives 99 guidelines that are basic ways to live life and simplify your life. What I took away from this is to concentrate on myself and stop trying to solve everyone else's problems. This book was written after the COVID-19 pandemic. There are several references to that time period and how people had to be socially distant. The only part that made me reread it over again was the use of the phrase "armchair quarterback". This doesn't seem like a term a monk would use. A great read and reminder to remember what is important: You. #CillasBookManiacs

Most helpful book I've read in a long time
I love the advice in this book and I find myself returning to it again and again. The chapters are short and easy to digest so I can read them on my phone while I am waiting for the bus or waiting in line at the grocery store. Wonderful reminders to slow down, let go of worry, and enjoy life, perfect for someone who tends to be anxious like me. So helpful!

Love these tips!
Very simple wording, but deep advice! I will be re-reading this book quite a few times! Little tidbits to ponder; some advice I guess we all know, but presented in a different way. Appreciates the one-page explanations/examples.

Outstanding Guide to Elevated Perception
I’m adding this to my ‘inspirational thoughts & daily spiritual guide’ books that I use daily to kick me into positive thoughts and actions. Well done and I love that he is a renowned Japanese master gardener as well.
