This putty knife is well-made and has a lot of nice features, such as a comfortable soft-grip handle and a cast-metal end on the handle so you can use it to pound in nails, but the most important feature for me is that the blade is made of solid brass, so it will never rust. Most metal putty knife blades, even the ones that are supposed to be rust-resistant, will rust sooner or later, and require some maintenance to keep them in a usable state. This one is rust-proof because it's made of brass, and it has held up well for the past four years.I only wish that Hyde made flexible brass putty knives as well as the stiff ones.
