Genetics: Genes, genomes, and evolution Paperback – 18 May 2017

I love the way this book approaches topics. It often proposes problems to the reader, and explains the topic by resolving such problems. It really aids understanding. Full of detailed explanation so you can easily join the dots. It also has many useful pictures and diagrams, which is always a nice thing to have in science books. I personally found it a little hard to navigate but perhaps that’s me being new to the subject so I don’t think that should affect the rating.

The first substantive biological statement in this book reads: "All organisms are composed of cells". That statement is false. Many myxomycetes are not composed of cells, at least at some stages of their life cycle. This book has no credibility.

I got this book for a genetics class in college but dropped it so I returned the book. It’s a high quality book and is made well, but I really don’t have much to say about readability or the content of it since it had it for like 1 week. It wouldn’t be fair to rate it low so 5 stars for the cute zebra on the cover lol

It was an item my daughter needed for college. She is satisfied with it because l haven't heard anything complaint from her about the book. However the delivery could have been much faster!

It does it's job for what i needed it for however there is little to no mention of Rosaland Franklin, a woman who died of cancer for her work, only to have her results and data stolen from her by watson and crick. These snakes were given all the credit in this book which seems like an injustice to the practice in science itself. Do not glorify liars because that is bad science.

The book is falling apart. The cover is literally hanging on by the paper of the cover. It would have been decent if the cover had duct tape to hold it together.
