Works great!!
My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) drive to/from New Jersey- Florida every year. This was a perfect solution for lunch. Easy, economical and convenient. After 8 hours of "cooking" it was boiling hot. Fits 5 cups of ingredients. I made chili and served with chips. Portions weren't huge but sufficient to get us thru until dinner. We set this up in rear area of car and placed it inside plastic storage container to catch spills which are inevitable since the car is in motion, bumps, turns etc. But its not like we had major spillage. The elastic strap to hold lid is simple but smart solution. I purchased a square plastic container and silicon pad from Dollar Tree which fit the crock pot perfectly and will also do well for storage when not in use. For both batches of chili, i used cooked meats but it got so hot, i imagine it would sufficiently cook any raw foods.

Great little item!!!
We purchased ours earlier in the year expecting to use it almost right away. Road trip never happened so it sat in the box. Finally this week broke it out of the box; and using a 30amp switching power supply with a cigarette jack on it, we actually used it in the house to prepare a small beef stew. The power supply didn't even get luke warm. The RoadPro pulls about 8 amps of current at 14 volts; well under the standard 10 amp capacity of most cigarette lighter jacks in most vehicles. To stabilize it in a moving vehicle, we will use 2 to 4 "bungee" straps to clamp it down on the floor in the back seat of my Ford Escape to keep it from moving. Also can put stuff around it (though nothing that can melt!) to help keep it in place. This unit does get warm to the touch so be careful. But; after 8 hours of cook time, this blessed me with a very generous amount of beef stew; suitable to feed 3 people if you count other fixings with it. Very handy item!!!

Nice little 12v sliw cooker
Its not most powerful, its like a regular one on low but keeping that in mind it works perfect and is perfect in my camper.

Thought this would be a great addition to my Vanlife
I got this product to use on my travels with my van. I used it 2 times and the plug and the on off switch got very warm . The first time it cooked the food just fine although I would not classify it as a slow cooker since it has only ! temperature hot. Anyway i used it with my solar generator and it used 94 watts but like i said it got very hot and on the 2nd use the plug got so hot it latterly melted the plastic parts . I was afraid it was gonna catch on fire it was actually putting off smoke. Iwould love to return but like I said bought for use in my van travels and packed it away before trying it and of coarse no room for packaging in a camper van . Ah well gonna try to replace plug and see if it will still operate .

Great crock pot
Love that it fits in small space and it holds a good amount. It’s not like home plug in one does take a little time. We are truckers and make lots of meals and warm up foods in this.

Down Star and updated review
Now that I've used this for more than a year, I've come to not really like it. My biggest complaint is it has only 2 settings, on or off. "On" gets too hot in the summer time, where I want to slow cook something for 5 hours but instead is done in 1 - 1.5 hours. The fuse link inside the pot broke recently, that is disappointing. And after taking it apart, I was surprised to see how cheaply this thing is made, especially for how much it costs. If it had 4 settings (off, low, high, warm) I would be willing to buy another.I also found it kind of too small for me. Even though I am cooking for just me, it fills up just too quickly with food when I want to make something. And since I'm running off solar for this in my van, I like to make several days of food so I can get the most out of my solar usage on a day that I have good sun. Granted, the size is not a fault and I don't take away stars for its size since you know that you are buying a tiny pot.Since I have a good inverter in my van, my plan is to replace this broken unit with a regular household 2 or 3 QT unit that has all the features I'm looking for, including something programmable so it can start cooking while I'm out climbing or whatever. Maybe even a smart version that I can monitor and control remotely. My 3 stars are for it's lack of function (on/off only), poor quality and cost. I would give it just 2 stars for that, but it's a pretty useful unit otherwise, I did make many meals in it.

Three Stars
Its weak but it works. I had originally given this three stars, meant to go five stars. The reason is that the crock pot is one thing which makes the most sense when you are talking about smaller weaker electrical heating elements in something, and thus, you expect stuff to take a long time in a crock pot. They also have a simple and effective lid retention system and real ceramic insert. The pot is small, but just the right size for a single person. If you get no other 12v cooking appliance, consider the crock pot, even if you are doing van camping and everything else runs gas and propane. The12v crock pot really can't get any better than this, but others I guess could be physically larger. If you want bigger though, you might as well use a full size crock pot with a 12v inverter.
