Mostly keeps the last bit safe
Used to give my pup long chewsticks w times on them so I knew about how long it took to get to the end, but as soon as she saw me heading to her, she'd wolf them down quickly so I couldn't get it. I started strategizing how I'd approach her pretending I wasn't going to bother her then lunge for the stick to remove it forcefully from her mouth. Yes I could also just tell her NO, but it's a treat for Heaven's sake! It shouldn't come w negativity! So thought I'd try this.At first she wasn't interested in the "new" device that was "in her way". But soon, like 1 day ha!, she gave it a go. Now it's a staple. So far it has mostly kept the last bit of my pup's chew sticks intact. Some sticks clamp easier and more securely than others. You can tell when u tighten it. For those that tend to wiggle and know they can eventually be pulled out, I drill a small hole at the end & screw down into that. Works fine. I've also cut away parts of the end of very large sticks to make them fit. Holds them fine.I have an extremely aggressive chewer. She will also start chewing the holder itself, and carries it around like a bone hoping to get that last piece out, which helps me have time to get it and remove the piece and toss it!So far I love it, no more monitoring her chewing as closely. I still do, just not as closely and it gives me time to get it at my convenience and toss the last piece out. Probably about 90% effective and that works great for me! So much better than b4! Had it about 2 weeks. Holding up good so far with just some bite marks on the outside. : )

AWESOME PRODUCT!
I now feel safe giving my dog & new puppy bully sticks! I have a Bassett Hound that will literally swallow any size chew if he can. This product locks the bully stick in place VERY securely & I no longer have to worry about him swallowing large pieces! It's VERY sturdy & he or the new puppy will not be able to destroy it.Only downside for me is...It is made of hard plastic and is loud as my puppy flings it around in excitement. It would be nice if the ends were actually rubbery so the noise level wasn't so bad. But I am teaching him to chill when he gets his chew time so I guess he'll learn not to flip it all over soon. It's a bit pricey but I felt the prevention of a Vet visit was worth the cost. I really hate having to throw away the little stub when it gets chewed down. There's any 1.5"-2" of bully stick left and they are expensive treats! I wish I could do something with those or wish they were made a different way so there wasn't so much going on the garbage. It's also a bit tricky for me to tighten the grip with my arthritis but I love the way the turnkey is hidden in the side so the dogs can't get to it.In the end... I 100% recommend this product especially for those teething puppies & dogs that like to chew! Get it now!

Best product ever!
This thing is the best! I have a labradoodle -- cute as a button but has serious resource-guarding issues. Getting a bully stick away from him while he was chewing was next to impossible. I'd used every trick I'd learned from our trainer, which sometimes worked, but not always. He often refused to relinquish it, growling and snapping at me as I approached. Honestly, it was really frightening! Equally frightening, though, was the prospect of him choking -- which he came close to doing once! But I know that chewing is fun and beneficial for pups! So I gave this product a try and I have to say -- it is terrific!! I use a 12-inch bully stick, clamp this on very tightly about 4/5 of the way down, and he is able to chew on it safely for a good stretch and then just walk away. Awesome!! This has really been a game changer. He's such a tired and happy pup afterwards. Highly recommend!!

One and Done***
***UPDATE*** I am revising my review from 2 stars to 4. The company offered a refund due to the product becoming dangerous for my puppy to chew after one use. That's pretty amazing, and I will keep watching to see if they offer any new version of this product in hard rubber in the future, or get something else from them. Much appreciated![..Pretty expensive for a one-use holder--my dog tried her first collagen chew and made so many scratches in the Bow Wow Buddy that it's covered in sharp points of plastic. The small didn't work for flatter sticks, even this new version doesn't screw down very tight. It held a thicker chew alright, but if she used it again she'd likely cut her gums on the gagged hard plastic. I wish it were hard chew-safe rubber on the outside with a screw that tightened down the whole way.]

Great and safe product
Easy to clamp down on the bully stick - this new design is better.

Poorly designed
I am no longer going to use this for my bully sticks. I’ve had to fish far too many bully nubs out of my dogs throat everytime I used it.I wish the screw was longer and wish the surface within had some traction to prevent yanking a bully stick out.The photo shows what it looks like screwed tight. There is about a quarter inch of clearance. It may seem like enough space but please remember that the bully sticks get slobbery after a certain point and if you have a persistent enough dog, they WILL pull it out. It is all smooth surfaces in there. Please note that after so many failed bully-holding attempts. I’ve tried drilling a divot into the bully stick, It didn’t make a difference unfortunately.I use bully sticks from Costco or Petco. It feels like the goal is to have us purchase their branded thicker bully sticks (boo, they are expensive!!).This is what my holder looks like after a week of use, I have 2 seven month old Pitbull lab puppies. I’m okay with it looking worn since it means that they are less likely to chip a tooth.I am bummed because I bought two thinking I was going to be able to use them as both bully and yak holders (spolier: the medium does not hold a large yak)
