Concise Ruler Circular Calculator 27N 100805

A plastic slide rule got me through my science classes in the 70s and I have never lost my fondness for them. As an aviator, I recognize that the E-6B manual fight computer is a circular slide ruler with time/speed/distance graphics added to the face. I still like to play with them, and I always wanted a non-aviation model. When I saw this in Amazon, I had to have it and I am glad that I bought it. It is very smooth and it is easy to align the index marks accurately. I keep near my easy chair and grab it when I want to cross check something I see on TV etc. I also own a very nice Pickett model in excellent condition that I round in an antique store.

Not must information on the Internet or YouTube on how to use all capabilities of the slide rule. Instructions would help so I could use all features.

The marking is concise (pun not intended). I have been looking for a slide rule for a while, and I don't see many places that have it.I only use this for multiplications and divisions, but that's plenty useful.Amazon packed this item well (this item and this time) in a hard cardbord envlope, and not demaged during shipping like my other items.

Muito Bonita e bem construída, mas peca pelo desalinhamento das escalas C e D.Existe uma enervante diferença centesimal em alguns pontos implicando, por exemplo, em mostrar o resultado de 850/25 como quase 34, por mais que se procure alinhar as escalas.Uma pena mesmo.

電卓が普及してはや半世紀。現職の教員の中にも計算尺を知っている人は各校数えるほど。そして、使える人は1人もいないというのはざらになって久しく…。有効数字の考え方は今も昔も学ぶが、実験での読み取り操作は温度計程度に限られている。なんとなく理解はしているが…という状態をマシにするには、アナログ機器の読み取り機会を増やす必要性を感じていた。映画『風立ちぬ』で計算尺を目にしてから、ヘンミ式を探していたが、コンサイスの方が乗除算はしやすそうだ、ということで本品を購入。乗除算の桁数の削減について、感覚的に「あっ、そうだよね」という感じを得られる、確かな予感は得られた。
