API ROOT TABS Freshwater Aquarium Plant Fertilizer 0.4-Ounce 10-Count Box

I've been using these API Root Tabs for about a year and they work great. They are great for plant health and promote growth and new sprouts. They are a good size thick and durable tablet that wont desolve as soon as it comes in contact with water. My aquarium plants love them. They are a great value for the money. Try them and you will be happy with the results.

Plants thrive and easy to use

Read previous reviews. I have 2 fish tanks, a 5 gallon and a 10 gallon. After reading the previous reviews, I only placed a single tab in each. The 10 gallon did not cloud at all. The 5 gallon is heavily planted, did cloud a bit, but cleared up in about 15 minutes. Will wait a week before placing a new tab, just tried today so no comment about how well they work

This was the first time using root tabs for me. The response of my Amazon swords and Water Wisteria was great All of the other plants are growing well also.

These root tabs have helped my plants health, growth rate, and overall quality, tremendously. As soon as I put these tabs in my sand/soil, just days later I noticed new growth, my plants got greener & healthier, and they're incredibly easy to use. It is a very good price for the product and I will be buying again. I put them in a month or two ago, and my plants are still growing and looking as healthy as ever. Before these tabs, they stayed the same size, and was just slowly turning brown as the months went by, i've always struggled with plants but these made a huge difference. I will be buying again

I am not a fish expert, but I’ve had this product recommended to me by a few people that have used it successfully. I didn’t anticipate some of the problems I have had. Here they are, basically each one caused the next one:1. The package recommended using 6 tabs per 10 gallons of water. I have a ten gallon tank so I decided to use 3 as a starter, to see how that would work. I think even that’s too much for a 10 gallon tank. The amount of material in 1-2 tabs, but in smaller and more solid initial form might work better.2. As I placed the tabs into the tank 2 of them instantly began to dissolve and cloud up the water with minerals. I buried them as fast as possible, near my plants.3. The increased minerals in the water led to a sudden algae bloom later that day. I had to do a number of water change outs over a number of days, and barely maintained control of the water quality. It was perfect before this. I still have high levels of nitrites I’m trying to reduce, which was initially a high ammonia problem shortly after the algae bloom.4. With water quality down it was important to make sure I get the substrate cleaned up as well. The areas near the plants can’t be “gravel vacuumed” without bringing another cloud of minerals. It’s hard to completely avoid them even if you know the tabs are there.I would hope there are better ways to have these placed under the gravel in a time release type tab. Maybe a clear gel capsule even, something to keep them completely together on the way in. I’ll need some further guidance before I use any more of these.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:When running natural you have to put back nutrients in the soil and make sure the PH balance is good ..healthy everything in the tank my plants are turning green again

Put 3 tabs in my 5 gallon aquarium. We'll see if my Amazon Sword, Java Fern & Canabalis thrive with these nutrients.
