Cowboy Bold (Longhorn Canyon Book 1)

I am really looking forward to the next book: Cowboy Honor. This is a standalone book with no cliffhanger and a happy ever after.

I have read Carolyn Brown's books for years. Longhorn Canyon is a new series from her. I waited till I had the whole series before reading the series. Cowboy Bold is a fun read with a mixture of family values mixed in. Cade Maguire was born and raised in Texas and very serious Texas Longhorn fan. Retta Palmer is born and raised in Oklahoma and is a Oklahoma Sooner fan. Mix these two up working together on a ranch in Texas and you have a lot of fun. Retta recently lost her father and had to sell the family ranch to pay medical bills. She comes to Longhorn Canyon Ranch to work five weeks with a group of children brought in from foster homes and needy families. Retta thinks she will be there 5 weeks and then move on back her job s an executive at a bank she worked at before her Dad died. Life gives you surprises when you least expect it. Cowboy Bold is the first in the series of this and you will get hooked with page one and not want to stop reading. Highly recommend any book by Carolyn Brown.

Love Cade sexy cowboy from the londhorn canyon ranch and sweet Retta who a cowgirl at heart ,but had to quit her job at a big bank in Dallas to take care of her father . So now she's broke she even sold her car to pay all his Dr's bill's and she takes a five week job at the ranch . And here is where a sweet love story starts ...You will Love this one for sure enjoy ; ) ………………

I just fell in love with three more Texas cowboys in COWBOY BOLD by Carolyn Brown. Carolyn again tells a delightful story about a ranching family with a big heart. Every summer they take in a group of inner city kids, and show them what family working values are. The kids have fun, learn life skills, and are surrounded with love. That love seeps into the new girls' adviser/bunk superviser as she falls in love with the ranch and a certain cowboy. Retta is a ranch girl turned city girl who has just buried her dear father. She falls in love not only with the ranch and rancher, but with the idea of helping these kids. I look forward to the next book in this series, and hope Benjy is included in the next stories as he is so special.

Can not wait for the next book!Cade looks forward to opening his Longhorn Canyon Ranch to underprivileged city kids every summer. This year, he is having no luck finding a counselor for the children. Retta, who is completely broke, goes and applies for to be a counselor at the Ranch.Very sweet cowboy romance!

Unlike so many romance stories where the characters seem to exist in a bubble where their feelings overshadow the setting and the supporting characters, Cowboy Bold feels like a slice of life, of a Texas ranch life. Brown populates her books with fleshed out characters who give the central relationship context. Here with family members and eight underprivileged children we get to see the characters develop in relation to outside forces. Her “bold” cowboy is vulnerable. The female lead is stuck between two worlds as she puts it. This novel gives you conflict, choices, growth, heart, patience, oh yes — and sheet cake all squished into five weeks.

Carolyn Brown has outdone herself this time. I absolutely loved this book and think it is one of her very best. Longhorn Canyon Ranch is a working ranch that Cade Maguire, his brother and ranch foreman open up to a small group of 8 inner city kids ages 10 - 12 for five weeks a year to teach them leadership and how to work as a team . They come with attitude plus and manage to go home friends. You can't help but fall in love with Benjy who is a high functioning autistic child who lives with his great grandmother.

I have read most of Carolyn Brown's cowboy romances and love them all!! This is definitely another winner. She is such a great writer!!! I always love her characters and story lines. Not a lot of angst (which I appreciate) but characters with depth. They're the type of people that you would want in your life. The kids in this story are adorable and amazing and they show a lot of growth in the time they spend at the ranch. The H/h are both so likable (as is the case in all her books). I can't wait for the next two books in this series!!!!!
