I mean, it straightens, yes. However, it does not heat as quickly as I was led to believe and it doesn't maintain heat as consistently as I was led to believe. It is definitely a $25 straightener and I shouldn't have expected it to be amazing, but I have pretty standard hair (light wave, but long length) and at a heat of 420°, I was having to go over sections repeatedly. And the ends weren't smooth, but rather a bit frizzy/static-y and the results didn't last particularly long. I believe this is because the heat had been used up in the top half and the plates were too cold near the ends to properly smooth and seal the cuticle. The straightener this replaced was ~$50 and at a heat of 350°, I was able to speed through straightening my hair in about half the time of this one, I can't see the need to practically burn the root section of my hair at 420° every time I straighten it, just to not have it last more than a couple hours.I returned it after one attempt at straightening my hair and will continue looking for a replacement straightener.Edit: After discussion with a Nition representative, I was allowed to test this straightener (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074X5YPYR) which is the new version of the one on this page. It works VERY well. I have pictures that I will be adding to my review on that page. The customer service for this company is superb. I highly recommend discussing with them, if you have any issues.

My main problem with this is that the two plates don't exactly fully touch so I feel the need to close it really tight which makes my hand cramp after a while. But the separation is minimal so it doesn't have a major impact on the functionality of the straightener.I like that there's different temps to choose from so on humid days I can crank it up & on cooler days I can keep it low. Or if my hand starts cramping I can turn the heat up & use less force to clamp it shut around my hair.I also like the rose gold color. I know that how a straightener looks isn't as important as it makes your hair look but it's still nice to have pretty things lol.I love that there's an auto shut off feature. I haven't needed it yet but I do tend to be forgetful so it's nice to know that there's a safety net to keep my house from burning down.

Bought this flat iron because of its fair price and good review out of so many choices! And I gotta said I am very satisfy with my final decision of buying this! The picture manual is very helpful for a newbie on flat iron like me. It can actually do curls too! The iron is light weight and with sleek color! It has different temperature adjustments. And it comes with a surprise of extended warranty if you contact the seller!! Loving my purchase for sure!!

Update - 8/9/18:Adding another star. This company has great customer service. They contacted me and sent me the gold 1 1/4" model to try since I was unhappy with my purchase. It's a bit higher in price, but I'd definitely recommend buying up. The gold 1 1/4" model operates much smoother and gives my hair a much better finish.Original review:This flat iron is okay, nothing special. It straightens fine and heats up quickly, but it doesn't glide across your hair, especially if you're trying to curl with it. It catches at different points, so it takes more effort. It also just feels cheap, so you get what you pay for. Will probably return.

Really wanted to love this. It honestly feels like a cheap product when you pick it up. I was very unhappy with that. The buttons are on the outside so when I was styling my hair I kept hitting them. I probably shouldn't of thought of that when I bought it, but I didn't. Another complaint is that there is no heating up indicator. (My last one would blink until it was fully up to temp.) So I just have to guess when it's ready. Lastly, it unfortunately did not curl my hair well at all. I had to work hard for mediocre curls.

This Company Is Amazing. I Recieved A Flat Iron That Wasn’t Good The First Time & They Immediately Wrote Me & Told Me They Will Send Me A New One. I bought this for my wife. She likes it. It left her hair looking a little frizzy after flat ironing it. She ended up buying abfee products to see if that would help. After using the flat iron with It's A 10 leave in conditioner, a heat straightening serum, and an anti humidity thermal spray she likes the flat iron. She said that she would prefer the dial, but the button works fine. It says that it goes up to 450 degrees, but it does not feel like it gets tgat hot. She like the locking mechanism to prevent it from opening and the plates do not snag the hair.

I didn't initially fall in love with this straightener right away, but it was probably because I was so used to the crappy one I was holding on to for so long. This straightener makes the best curls and straightens my hair on its crazy days. Not only is it gorgeous, but it really does a great job! I love how narrow this version is. My hair is shorter and wider straighteners just don't give me the curls I want. Sidenote, the company is also super responsive and dedicated to customer service. They were so great to work with when I had reservations about this straightener in the beginning. They answered all of my questions very fast and made sure I was 100% satisfied with their products.

Can't beat the price for this straightener. I bought it to replace my much more expensive Avanti straightener. It actually performs better. Heats up quick and evenly. I love the floating plates. Ive owned quite a few straighteners and this competes with ones I've paid over $100 on.My only complaint is I wish the plates were slightly longer, as my hair tends to snag, but not too much of an issue with this one.

Love my new Nition Hair Straightener!!I was worried about the high heat of flat irons that could burn hairs but this one comes with 6 temperature options - 300°F, 340°F, 365°F, 390°F, 420°F & 450°F and I use 340°F for my fine hair and it works wonders.Love the smooth ceramic heating plate & the nice peach colour.Great Choice for all types of hairs I think!

Incredible customer service from the manufacturers of this straightener! They sent me an email with a warranty, in the box it came with a scanning code to get a free gift and extended warranty! Also wonderful straightener especially for the price! I'm so impressed.

My first impression from the first couple uses is that this is a great hair straightener for the price! I have naturally wavy / thin hair, and I only need it to fix and curl my hair partially. For this kind of use, it is perfect. It most probably is as good if you want to do your full hair but I haven't tried that yet.Before that I was using a GHD straightener, and yes this one isn't as smooth as the GHD. But I quickly got used to it. Also it doesn't cost $200+ ! (like the GHD that stopped working after exactly 2.5 years, no drop or heavy use)

I really like it closes alone after 60 minutes very useful for me who often forgets to close them. the width of the product and optimal to do many things like to curl or wave. I love that it has the argan and tourmaline AND dual voltage AND the cool tip so you don't burn your fingers while styling AND a swivel cord AND a clip to hold it closed when not in use (I don't understand why they don't ALL have that as it makes a big difference in how much space it takes to store. Best one I've had.

I have purchased many expensive hair straighteners in the past and NONE compare to my Nition, which was so reasonably priced I didn't think it would do a good job. Boy, was I wrong! It straightens my hair perfectly and even after a night's sleep or wearing it up in a ponytail, it is still straight. I will recommend this to all my friends and definitely will order again when the time comes. FIVE STARS for sure!! :)

Amazed at this straightener. I bought a $100 chi before and I have to say this hair straightener beats the chi in terms of heat and quality. There are options to lower/increase heat and it does not clip your hair. Love it!!

I was skeptic about buying a straightener online as I am with a local drug store like Shoppers but, this one was good quality. Now it is not salon quality obviously but, what does one expect unless they are willing to shell out hundres of dollars. For its value I love it. It does not feel like cheap plastic like drug stores do, its durable as I have dropped it and it heats up really fast so dont walk away for too long! My hair is long and thick dark alaskan hair and I dont use the highest setting still as to avoid frying it to oblivion. So if you are on a budget and want nice hair.... buy it!

Works well for the price. Do not expect it to work like a 100$ on either! I have really curly hair and it straightens it pretty well, but my hair ends up puffier than if I had done it with my regular straightener :)

I really like this straightener. It heats up REALLY fast. Love the settings. However it stopped heating about 6 months after I bought it. My husband hates throwing things out and is very handy so he took it apart (not easy!) and found a loose wire inside. He fixed it and put it back together and it works perfectly again. It's sad how so many of these kinds of things are thrown into our landfills, and another one purchased, all due to shoddy workmanship. It was an easy fix once identified but not everyone is able to fix things and to pay for it to get repaired can cost more than the product itself! Anyway if not for that I would have given 5 stars

Pas cher et travaille bien pour lisser ou friser. J'utilise toujours un fer plat pour mes boucles et ça fontionne bien. Même résultat qu'avec un fer plus dispendieux. Très bon achat!

Straightens really well, not so much for curling even though it is meant too,For a faily cheap straightner it does a good job. I like that after passing it in my hiar, my hair isnt hot to the touch.
