I got this for a windows 10 desktop computer to use wifi. It came with an installation disk bit didn't need it. I plugged it into the usb port and expected it to do the driver search thing. Nope, it went straight to saying wireless networks are available. I put in my password and it connected at 433Mbps. I've been using it about a week with zero issues. My Internet speed is just as good as when I had the desktop in the same room as the router connected with ethernet cable. It's small, unobtrusive, has good range, and seems to be reliable so far. Very satisfied.

I did write a great review below when we first got this one and then we ordered another as we wanted to increase the signal on two laptops. These worked great in the beginning finding both 2.4 and 5 Ghz, but it has only been a little over a month and both have stopped working as when we first got them. To us, it is a waste of money as the router has not changed location nor service and now each only finds one signal and doesn't boost it like before. Here is the old review, but we recommend to not buy them: This WiFi adapter is awesome as it increased the signal quite a bit resulting in less dropping of the WiFi signal. We actually now have 2 of these and LOVE them. Local retailers wanted 3 times or more than the amazon price. Easy to install as it was plug and play

This device is really easy to set up.If you are not so tech savy it might take a little longer to set up but this for me was 123. It is a little bulky but if you need it and it works then you have to compromise. I bought this for my wife's computer than only gets one bar of wifi with her laptop. Instead of 1 she now gets 5. The down side is when I did a speed test her speed were definitely higher but not as fast as my laptop with a better internal antennae.In summery is this the best signal booster? No. Did it work? yes.I am going to keep it since it does boost the signal and it is very affordable.

I needed an external WI-FI because my WI-FI on the motherboard stopped working. The antenna allows for further distance allowing me to go outside. However, the antenna doesn't STAND UP, allowing for that distance. I continually am screwing the antenna back together. Also, the casing that houses the actual WI-FI unit has a top and bottom that clicks together, this is over the WI-FI unit that plugs into your PC and it comes apart with the slightest touch.So, this product does work, however, it is not as sturdy as I would like.

This came with a mini disk for the driver install. I do not have a disk drive and the directions for online driver did not work for my macbook air. I did find a driver online but it took some figuring to get it to work. THere really were not directions to use it, I had to figure it out with the small icon on the top of my screen. I still get kicked off the internet but this does make a difference. It is ok, but not consistent. I probably would not buy it again.

EDIT- I upped the review to three stars, because the customer service from this company was great to deal with. They responded to my poor review and did everything they could to make it right.I'm always skeptical of off brand electronics, but the reviews on this one seemed reasonable enough. I have an ASUS RT-N66R router and the antenna was within a reasonable distance of the router - almost in LOS. I could not get transfer speeds above 50-60 mbps. Not even N speed transfer.Even for $14, I expected the product to deliver at minimum what was advertised. Spend the money. Go with a reputable brand for your WIFI connection.

Works as expected. I does stick out of the laptop which makes it extremely susceptible to being damaged if it is knocked around. More to the USB port that the antenna. It would be nice to know which rtl chipset is in this product as it does not work natively with Linux. Seller was nice enough to remind me of the internet standard it uses but that doesn't help. Decent product with Window as it is almost completely "plug and pray".

My internet connection is 600 Mbps, and I can achieve this on my work computer, which is rated to 1000 Mbps. My personal computer's internal modem has a max speed of 100 Mbps for wired or wireless connection, and I typically received 95 Mbps download, and by adding this device, I consistently have download speeds of 150-200 Mbps. There has been no impact to my upload speed, which is in the 20-30 Mbps range. It also reduces the number of disconnections when streaming/gaming. I can only connect to either the 2.4G or the 5.0G band, so you can't double dip here.
