Delivers non-stick promise, disappointed about the lids
UPDATE:So it's been about a month since purchase and I really really love these pans. They are truly non-stick. Pancakes, eggs, bacon, fried rice...I've kind of tried to make them all stick as an experiment. Nothing sticks. I never use oil or butter in the pan for eggs & pancakes. Hooray!! 5 star cookware. But I am leaving my review at 4 stars because the manufacturer still has not answered my emails. I even tried to call one and couldn't get a human. I left a message and never heard back. I just want to know what the official oven temperature is. Why is it so hard to get this info from them?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I just received this set after asking a few questions here on Amazon and a little research on my own. I opened up the box eagerly and here are my thoughts:* The finish is more like a matte brick color, which I like. Just wanted to point that out in case you were expecting something like shiny firetruck red.* RE: the lids - I've purchased other cookware sets where the pot lids will also fit on the skillets, which is great. These pot lids DO NOT fit the skillets. They do not advertise as such, but I guess it's something I was subconsciously expecting. One of the lids is juuuuust a touch too big for 10" pan. Perhaps in the future, this is something the manufacturer can take into consideration.* I tested an egg as quickly as I could wash a pan as this is The Test for non-stick claims. No oil in the pan, the egg released from the pan very well. It did not stick. The yolk did not break when I lifted it off the pan.* The pans are quite lightweight. Perhaps I've just gotten too used to my Calphalon & cast iron pans. lol. They do feel very light so we'll see about durability.* I wish there was more product info in the box. There is just a 1 page info sheet. it does not specify the max oven temp, which I'd like to confirm. (In the questions I asked other owners, someone did say it is >450, but I'd really like the manufacturer to specify this somewhere in writing. It's not listed on their website. I sent them an email prior to purchase but have not heard back after a couple of business days.I hope to update this review after more time with this set.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful CeraStone Earth Series pans
I had purchased the CeraStone earth series fry pan in a 12 inch size and wanted to use it before deciding if I wanted to purchase more of these pans. I was a little concerned that the pans have stainless steel handles and they would get too hot to handle but they don't at all. After cooking all sorts of gooey messes in the 12 inch pan and seeing how easily it cleans and how well it cooks I wanted to add an 8 inch and a 10 inch pan to my collection. Food does not stick at all or burn at all. Truly a remarkable pan. I have a glass top stove and it cooks very evenly and if you have to simmer something (like beef stroganoff) for 45 to 60 minutes it does it without burning the food in the middle like most pans do. These are great pans and even though they are a bit pricey, they are so worth the price. And they are so darn pretty I just leave them on top of the stove all the time. Oh I might mention, it took me a while to find the smaller pans. If you look for them just type in CeraStone Earth Series Ceramic Non Stick Fry Pans. I finally found them by the hunting method on page 18 or 19. Worth the hunt and in a few days Amazon will send me my new pans to complete my set. These two pans I chose will set me back about 95 bucks but THAT IS WHAT CREDIT CARDS ARE ALL ABOUT. And the free shipping with your Amazon store card helps a bunch, saved a little over 17 bucks in shipping costs too. Great product, great price and free shipping - what could be better??!!

Poor durability of ceramic coating after 6 months of use
We waited a considerable amount to time to place this review to determine how the pans held up with repeat use. My husband was very excited to have ceramic pans to replace our old non-sticks. They worked and cleaned beautifully, without a presoak, out of the box and we had no initial complaints. But after 6 months use, we have scratches in the ceramic coating of our most used pans, the two frying pans. We have always been careful with our pans to preserve them, and this ceramic coating is not made to last. It is an indication that we have gotten what we paid for with these very cost-effective ceramics. To confirm that we are careful with them, the pans are used with only silicone kitchen tools, sit on the stove until cleaning to avoid stacking in them, hand washed only with a soft Ocelo sponge, air dry, and then are hung on a kitchen rack, again avoiding stacking. There is no reason for the scratches except the quality of the ceramic coating.

Okay, but not totally non-stick
You see all those commercials saying how great these sorts of pans are - eh. Yes, it's easier to clean. No, it's by no means an "oil-free" way to cook. You want a little oil or butter in order to cook something without it sticking. But when you have that it does brown nicely. it also cleans easily enough - at least the inside. The outside is a tough clean. Also, note that the handle does heat up - be sure to grab it way at the end and not anywhere near the middle.

Don't use cooking sprays!
Returning the item. Used for a few weeks to fry eggs and 1 grilled cheese. I use an organic cooking spray on my cooking pans. When I attempt to clean the pan after frying an egg with the cooking spray it is extremely hard to clean. A residue always remains and it is sticky. Over several uses it only continues to build up. I contacted their customer support and they did respond quickly with suggestions for cleaning, which I did. It involved boiling water in the pan, then scrubbing, etc. It worked slightly but never cleaned it entirely. Then I grilled a grilled cheese using only butter and it stained the whole bottom of the pan. Their customer support said it could be defective as they've had some problems lately. In the end I was only lectured on the hazards of using a cooking spray to cook with.... somewhat unprofessional I think. He even sent a link on the health problems related to cooking sprays. Once it stained even using just plain butter I am now returning the item and going with a different brand. I told the rep that there should be a warning not to use cooking sprays if it is going to be impossible to clean from the product and since they are so widely used.
