I think the ad stated stainless steel painted, Well there are two kinds of stainless steel, Magnetic and non magnetic, A magnet sticks to grill screen, upper and lower metal pieces, Meaning all parts of this grill is magnetic steel, And can/ will rust, painted or not it will rust in time, If you live near an ocean you can be sure grill will rust sooner. The grill in your vehicle is the first part receiving whatever is coming at you, including rain,snow,sand, etc. how long will it take to rust mesh grill screen? Not long.The one I received also had a round metal piece to allow for key hood lock opening in grill, that round piece was sticking out loose about 180 degrees. To bad mesh grill is magnetic steel, Returned for a refund.

Installed on 2018 wrangler jk unlimited. At first seemed the ends and the temp sensor were obstructing the grill from snapping on. I bent in the far ends a hair and examined the sensor closely and it was just a tiny bit in the way. Just used some persuasion and it all snapped in. Did not even use screws on the bottom no rattles just a snug fit. Removed to test it again and it went right back on. The hole for the Bolt lock is centered but could have been a bit lower. You cant pull the cover all the way off or the tab holding it will pop out and is tought to shove back in.

This screen worked out perfect for my 2015 Wrangler. When I bought the Jeep, it had a specialty grill, so I replaced with a standard Jeep grill. I was concerned with openings, as my other grill was a full screen type, and it stopped many road items from hitting the radiator. This screen was perfect. Only complaint I had was the lower attachment, which in my opinion is not needed, as it's a tight fit without. Nice addition for the money.

Easy installation, instant protection for my radiator. I like the look of the mesh and it still allows the engine to breathe. Would recommend this to all Jeep owners looking for protection against rocks and debris from damaging your radiator. Great way to get the protection you want without breaking the bank.

Just received this yesterday and installed it this morning. Installation was easy even though there were no directions. Quality seems good and it feels somewhat heavy which is a good sign. Cheapest price I could find on this type of mesh grill.

I too installed one on a 2018 JKU Freedom edition, and only moved the temp sensor a bit. I snugged it down onto the grill using zip ties. The resulting finish is great. It really gives the grill a finished look, rather than the “Look at my radiator fins” look.

The bottom tabs don't line up and the temperature sensor is in the way. Doesn't fit my 2012 JKU Sport

The grill insert looks great. It is a bit confusing however due to the fact that it comes without instructions or hardware to attach the insert to the backside of the grill. My solution to the problem was to use the tools in the picture. The hand riveter worked great to attach the lower portion of the insert to the gussets on the bottom / backside of the grill.
