It’s an ac with some horses, thus, it uses more power than my last portable; however cools the room twice as fast and does it get cold! Can’t sleep unless I’m cool and this does the job and then some! The only real problem I had was finding a mounting kit for extra window space... please get the manufacture to make these kits as I cannot find them anywhere. I used another brands kit to fill the space, but wish it was all same brand! Great ac for the Bucks and remember proper cleaning and maintenance keeps it going smooth! Great product!

Good unit. I read so many reviews on portabale ac units and was scared to death of buying this thing! I had my expectations set low so maybe that was good idea. :) I checked many local retailers and most of the stuff was junk with 60 or 90 day warranties.None of these style units will be energy star BUT you can make sure you get one that uses low energy per BTUs. The 10,000 BTU unit uses 9-10 AMPs and the 8,000 BTU uses 8-10AMPs. I did tons of research on this because some units at 10,000 btus use 12-14 amps! You really need to pay attention to this because these units pull solid amps when running so electrical in your house will be loaded on a 15-20 AMP breaker.I have a super old house so I am thrilled to say I have no issues with this unit running. I have a 600-800 sq foot bedroom I am cooling with this and it’s been handling it without issue. I move it out front and hit a 900sq foot living room and it does well.We had some hot days in the South Bay Area of CA (100+) in an old house I keep windows closed during the day and cool the rooms I am in at night. The unit is doing well and electrical bill/usage has been fair so it’s fairly efficient as an ac unit will be.Biggest con I can complain about is the house attachment to window adapter. It’s not very strong and I reinforced it a few times and seems on now.By the way, for those who have seen the dual pipe models with both intake and output hoses, I think this unit does just as well as some of those other units out there.

The package was delivered around 2 business days after we purchase it. It looked as if UPS had used the box as a step-ladder, but the unit itself was well protected inside.This unit comes with everything you need to get it going. The window adapter is a little strange, but manageable. The unit itself is sleek and runs very quiet. Only issue I have is we thought we purchased a black unit, but it is white.

What a great product! We bought this for our Sunroom in August 2019 due to the crazy heat and humidity this summer.It saved our ability to use our Sunroom. It is quiet, noticeably cools our 10 x 10 enclosure in minutes - was a perfect purchase for us.

5 stars for Amazon customer support2.5 stars for Frigidaire ACThis is the 2nd floor AC I’ve owned, so I have experience.Compared to my previous unit, different manufacturer, this unit has a badly designed window exhaust. The window panel and actual exhaust are both not good. The materials used to manufacture are subpar as well.The instruction indicates no bends in the vent hose. But that is pretty hard to do when the window sill sits higher than the unit. You get a sharp bend from the unit up to the window even with 2 ft clearance as prescribed in the instruction.The exhaust vent is rectangular, and the hose is round. 6 plus inch diameter. So they are reducing down the venting capacity of the hose by using this exhaust.The exhaust is held in place by 4 clips. Mine broke when I was installing. Very weak clips, as I didn’t manhandle it. The window panel attachment broke as well.To replace these cost $80 for original manufacture equipment.Amazon discounted it since manufacture wouldn’t answer their phone when Amazon customer service tried calling.I rigged it to exhaust, but not beautiful.Then 2 days latter water on floor.Again Amazon called them and still no answer. Amazon dealt with it to my satisfaction. It is hard to believe that trillion $ Amazon still values its customers...but then again this is why they continue to go up in Value.

For a portable air conditioner, this unit is more than decent. I recommend you order up if your room isn't well insulated or somehow receives a lot of heat. This unit works wonders at cooling my apartment room. And let me tell you, I haven't better since putting this in. The warranty the unit comes with is pretty good.There are a few things that could be improved and would make this unit a leader in the portable A/C market:--the remote control's user interface isn't easy to use. this is particularly true on the "24 hour timer" feature. it needs to be redesigned to be clearer. also, the remote should have its own "on/off switch" instead of staying on all the time--the ducting for the unit isn't insulated. If you want to have as much efficiency as possible, I recommend going out to your local home improvement store and buying some thermal insulation for the ducting. Or better yet, Frigidaire could make the unit with insulated ducting right out of the box--the window panel is not easy to install if you can't or don't want to drill holes in the wall. I ended up using gorilla tape, but they need to redesign the window panel with apartments in mind.Overall, I give this A/C unit a 4.5/5 star rating. The price is pretty on par with other units. You'll get your money's worth with this unit.
