it is a good summary of the key points of the author's life ...
This is the latest bigraphy on Virgina Woolf and her famous colleagues. Since numerous biographies have already been published on this author and the 'Bloomsbury Set', there is little that is new or startlingly revelatory. Nevertheless, it is a good summary of the key points of the author's life and does contain some new facts and anacdotes not in other bigraphies. It is well written and relatively short covering all the relevant issues and events in Woolf's life including her close associations with many renowned figures of politics and the arts such as Maynard Keynes, E.M. Forster and Vita Sackville-West. Recommended for fans and as an introduction to those who wish to know more about this talented and famous author.

Tedious style of writing
That's just it. Flowery language unsuited to its subject. So many words which were just in the way. I felt Amy Licence was more interested in her own style than the Bloomsbury lot, people with style, despite their morals. A less verbose book could have the same number of pages with larger type. I lost interest and didn't bother wading through it till the end.
