Hiboy BK1

The media could not be loaded. Bought this over two years ago when my son turned 2. Was a bit too young for him but now that he’s turning four this bike is amazing. Hasn’t been treated the best ( friends have rode it, left in storms, submerged in the pond. Was honestly thinking it was going to get tossed before he could ride it but it’s STILL going and he’s in love with it!

We purchased the BK1 in nov 2023, His dad has a full-size E bike and our son wanted to be just like his dad. They have so much fun father and son bonding over riding E bikes! And when we ran into a small issue regarding the charger, the manufacturer went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. This bike is built to last and provides hours and hours of fun. We have taken it on camping trips, to the beach and around the neighborhood.

So I went to use the bike, purchased March 16, 2022, its now November 2022. I checked the charge and it was green so I thought it would work. But nothing. Reached out to the manufacture to see what trouble shooting I should do. They determined it was a bad battery. But how does a battery go bad after 6 months? And we used the product like only 5 times, my 5 year old liked it but I got it for my 3 year old who is still learning to bike ride. My other electric bike battery did not go bad after 6 months. The manufacturer did send a replacement battery for free and a new charger. I would personally would not get another one unless they put on a twist grip instigated the red button, my 5 year old complains it hurts her thumb after a few mins of riding. And fix the battery to last longer than 6 months.2/13/23 update I installed the new battery and if you are not mechanical you will have a problem replacing the battery. They have two plugs one with two reds and one with two blacks that go to a plug that is both red and black. So you have to reconnect them one at a time. My 5 year old tested the bike and is very excited that it is working. It is way to small for her but she loves the speed going down the driveway. When you get done using the bike put it on charge, we will see how long this battery lasts.

This is a super fun bike for kids. My son learned early on a regular strider bike and we wanted to go on farther rides but he was still so young he would get tired on farther rides. This was the solution! Battery charge is good and lets us go for several miles on a full charge. Would totally recommend this to anyone with small kids. My only feedback would be I wish both the seat and the handlebars could be raised to allow for them to continue using it as they get a little taller.

I can’t have higher praises for this kind of product. Not to say we couldn’t receive the same results as a similar hybrid electric balance bike, but the dual speed push start features offer the right tools to get your kid riding two wheels from scratch. They never rode a balance bike before, never rode training wheels. They only rode scooters. My 5 and 7 year old took turns on this after a brief explainer of what to expect. I started them with just the push feature to get used to picking up legs as they pushed. Then I introduced the low speed and throttle. After a half hour of that I switched to high speed (9mph). The concept of speed = balance reigns true. Speed will always be hard to get on a normal balance bike and train wheels only get your kid reliant on them without developing balance. In literally 1:30 hours they were running at full speed and turning in circles all on their own. This is the way to fast track your child in less than a day.Thankyou Hiboy.

11/8 update. Company sent us a new battery free of charge. We installed it. The new battery wouldn’t charge. In addition the brake control on the handle bar had a metal loop fall out of it and the brakes no longer worked. We threw it all in the garbage and bought my son(6yo) a razor brand electric bike which is built much better, Heavy, sturdy and faster (it’s the one that looks like a dirt bike. Razor 24 Mx350. I highly recommend this bike. It’s worth the price. My 10 even loves it and rides it)Bought this for my 6yo for Christmas last year, he rides it maybe 2x a month. The battery barely holds a charge. Maybe 15 minutes of consistent riding and it’s beeping to recharge. Couldn’t find a replacement battery on Amazon for this bike. Disappointing.***** update: the company contacted me and sent a replacement battery. Customer service was great and the issue was remedied.

We bought this electric balance bike for my 3 year old to learn how to keep his balance and ride a bike without training wheels. He learned SO FAST, and LOVES IT!! He can now ride a bike without training wheels too. It was easy to put together, rides good, charges fast and stays charged for a long time. There’s also different speeds you can put it on. Perfect for a toddler wanting to learn to ride a bike! And definitely worth the price, I know they are expensive but totally worth it!!
