4 bone Hoop Civil War Renaissance Sca Skirt Slip White

Hoops are a good size. I am 5.3 and it is about 1-2 inches off the floor. I am sure it would work well for anyone up to 5.8 & it would allow your dress to hang nice. One person stated the hoops show. If you keep the seams down & allow the fabric to hang over the hoop vs. under the hoop, it will keep your dress more smooth. I also like the draw sting waist tie. It is comfortable. It is a hoop skirt & moves like one. I got it for a civil war style dress I am making. I did not wear a hoop for my ball gown wedding dress because it is hard it sit in a hoop. But is great for my civil war dress.

It fits well and I am not small. The fabric is not cotton, but is just fine. The hoops hold week, but it is not as full as the picture shows once you get a heavy dress on it. The middle bones do not keep the shape as well as I would like, but it will do.

I had to buy this petticoat at the last minute for a costume for my daughter after not being able to find one locally. I was very worried that it would be the wrong size or length since I couldn't tell much from the picture. When it came, not only did it adjust to my daughter's waist but I could also wear it with plenty of extra room. It is of good quality and doesn't have any rough materials requiring another slip under it. It is also full enough for a civil war costume and heavy duty enough to handle the weight of a heavy dress without losing its shape. Due to the last minute nature of my order, I purchased this at noon on Wednesday and it arrived at 1pm on Thursday coming out of the box without bends or wrinkles. Don't panic if you need it at the last minute, it will arrive and be ready for wearing. I would highly recommend this petticoat for a wedding or costume!

Imagine walking down the isle on your big day, and your under skirt slips right off of you while walking. I'm now going down the isle holding onto this hoop and my dress. Once I get to where my husband is, and the preacher ask for everyone to bow their heads for prayer, I then take it off and my maid of honor throws it off to the side......yea, kinda sucked on my special day, but I guess it could have been worse......

I needed a pretty large petticoat for an 18th century Halloween costume, and I went with the 4-bone version of this product (and a little string and wire to mold it into the right "pannier" shape). The fabric is lightweight and the hoops are really very durable, even after being bent, knocked into, and squished by crowds in Salem, MA.The only thing I didn't like was the waistband. The drawstring is fine, but there was a lot of excess fabric between the top of the waist and the first hoop. I'm only 5'0", so I know I have more than my share of height-related fashion problems, but I thought the distance was a little excessive for anyone trying to get a nice, smooth curve under a skirt. I had to fold it over several times, and it created a lot of bunching and bulking under my outfit. Otherwise, it's a perfect accessory for costuming.

I bought this for my junior prom dress (FairOnly M37 Navy Blue). It'll do but cheaply made. The material feels like those disposable plastic table cloths. The hoops are adjustable, but they are hard to adjust. The end of the lowest hoop popped right through the little rubber piece. I actually have to use my tools to cut off part of the metal and reattach the metal piece just to make the adjustment because it is much poofier than desired. I would have returned it but it'll cost more than it's worth. If you're just looking for something quick and you're on a tight budget, this'll do but just be prepared to make a few of your own adjustments.

This hoop skirt works perfectly for me for civil war reenactments. One might think that you wouldn't be able to sit down with a hoop sirt on but contrary to that thought the hoop bends and your dress hangs appropriately when sitting, even when riding in the car. Also I sit on the ground to watch battles and the skirt lies quite nicely. The waist has a drawstring that you tie in a bow to your size. The waist size is large enough or small enough for an adult woman. The length of the skirt is perfect for me at 5 foot 4. I did think that the product description said that the hoops were adjustable and I haven't worked very hard to see how they adjust but that part (as far as I can see) is not as stated in the description. Wearing this hoop skirt under a lovely Civil War gown is just a ton of fun! I wear a full petticoat over the hoop skirt but under my dress so that the hoops themselves will not bulge or show, not sure if this is necessary but it is period correct and I've received many compliments on the graceful appearance of the hoop/petticoat/dress combination. I ordered this petticoat for my daughters 15th birthday party. The price was the best that i had found anywhere. It arrived within the week, it has a drawstring so it makes it a good fit. I was very satisfied with the product.
