Works great as a "Light Alarm"
I wanted a lighted "alarm clock" that would allow me to use only the increasing light function to wake up. I did listen to the available alarms-there are several-but I don't want the sound and I don't want a lighted clock. Turning off the sound is easily done by a switch on the back but I did have to contact the seller to find out how to turn off the light to the clock. I heard from them nearly immediately and it was easy.I do like waking up to a simulated sunrise-gradually increasing soft "sunrise-colored" light becoming my choice of warmer or cooler bright light. This is perfect for what I wanted.

Fairly good
*I SLEEP THROUGH EVERYTHING*I just wanted to start this review by saying that I am a TRUE heavy sleeper. Meaning I have 4 alarms on my cell phone. I have an old fashioned alarm clock with the bells on top (that thing almost gave me a heart attack) and now I have this "Sunrise" alarm clock. Waking up is extremely difficult for me as I do not become conscious simply because I hear something. Half the time I physically turn off my alarms but have no clue I've done so. I literally sleep through hurricanes. Now, the setup on this one was a little bit a trial and error. The first time I did it, I misunderstood the instructions so when the alarm went off the next morning it was a glowing red ball and was very unnerving. However, by the next night I was able to set it properly and it did what it was supposed to. I actually really like the light feature. Truthfully, I didn't think it would do anything but have been pleasantly surprised. It does start off almost red in color and slowly changes to this bright white color. The actual sound on this thing isn't great, for me. Mainly because I don't respond well unless it's loud enough to cause ear damage. I have not actually just woken up to this alarm alone as my only alarm. You only get to set it once for one time and I have zero faith in myself so... I dunno, do with that as you will. However, my son and I haven't been "late" since I got this alarm. Do I still oversleep? Yep. Do I still wake up first time I hear it and/or my alarms, negative. The light does stay on until I double tap it so that it helpful as I won't turn it off until I actually get out of my bed. The light really does help with waking up.Do I recommend a true heavy sleeper use simply this alarm? No. Do I think your life will get a little better if you add this alarm to other alarms? Yes. Again I still have 4 alarms on my cell phone, 1 old style alarm clock, and now this "Sunrise" alarm. It is a lot of moving pieces and honestly helps me wake up. The light is what helps but I do know I wouldn't wake up to the light alone. Again, I have zero faith in my own ability to wake up. I am not a normal person and I have accepted that. Whew, this review is a bit lengthy so thanks for reading all of it, you deserve a medal for reading all of this!

Works
Works for my heavy sleepers. Just about everything on here is adjustable. It takes a bit to learn how to use it, but it's not too bad.

quality is ok, serves its purpose
With the winter coming, I wanted a way to fake waking up at the same time as the sun. This alarm clock does do the trick. You can set a specific brightness that you want it to achieve. 30 min before your scheduled alarm, the light slowly starts to brighten up to the setting you selected. You can use this without using the sound alarm, which is my preference. There is a button on top to easily shut off the light and it automatically works for the same time the next day. It is cheaper than its counterparts and might lack some fancier features, but if you just want a pseudo sunrise light I would recommend this

Gentle way of waking up and easy to use!
The media could not be loaded. The alarm is great! Very easy to set up and arrange the settings that you prefer. The alarm is very bright, and does mimick the sunrise very well. The alarm has a lot of functions, such as radio, set up multiple alarms and even as a white noise machine. Would definitely recommend and its a good value for the price you pay!

a little confusing to operate at first, but good once I figured it out
It would be nice if this had more detailed instructions, as it took me some trial and error to figure out the controls. This is a nice sunrise alarm clock. You set an alarm time and it will spend 30 minutes before that time gradually getting brighter and cooler in color. It starts out with a dim red, then progresses through more orange and warm tones and then onto a cooler white color by the time the alarm goes off. This simulates a natural sunrise and helps your body be ready when it is actually time to wake up.Setting the clock and picking an alarm time is pretty straightforward. You also get to pick an alarm song and how bright the light should be at the end. There is a physical switch on the back that determines whether sound will play. If you switch that off (which I prefer) then you just get the light effect and are left to wake up naturally. I like this because it does not disturb my partner, who gets up a little later than me.There is also a lit-up clock on the front, and you can pick between a few brightness settings for it. You can also turn it off completely, which is nice because even the dimmest setting is pretty bright and I found it disruptive. Just be careful that the little alarm clock symbol is showing before you turn the display off, and then the sunrise lighting effect should kick in 1/2 hour before your set alarm time.A double tap on the top turns off the alarm. A single tap is a snooze function, which I wish I could turn off completely. I don't want to accidentally snooze it and then leave and have the alarm come blaring on later and wake up my partner. Since I have the sound turned off completely this shouldn't be a problem, but it's something to consider. You can also turn on the light at any time by tapping the touch button on the top. Or you can tap and hold and cycle it to your preferred brightness. I don't use this much, but it's a nice option to have so you don't need a separate bedside lamp.Does it work? I think so. I have persistent sleep problems and I'm never sure what effects whether a night goes well or not. I think I have been sleeping better in the morning, though. Before getting this sunrise alarm clock I was usually awake for an hour or more before I wanted to get up. Maybe this system is training my body to wait until the light comes on? Again, it's hard for more to tell for sure but I think my sleep has been better especially at the end of the night.I'm happy with it. I don't normally struggle to wake up and get up, so I can't really comment on that aspect of it. I'm planning to try it out with my teenager and see if it helps them get up more consistently.

Awful light
Super cheap, lightweight, and doesn't work right. I cant even get it to stand up.
