Anxiety filled wedding
I loved this book but I kept feeling anxious for first the bride and then the groom! It was wonderful to have the repeated phrase, God does miracles. Hurricane Allie is an quick peek into how beautifully God works in our lives just to delight us.

Allowed to face some trials in order to grow~
Allie Seton and Kyle Landon residing in Florida, are due to get married on August 12th. The book opens at Allie's 'third' (unofficial) bridal shower, two weeks before the big day. Kyle is very romantic and the two of the have been dating for 7-8 months. Both of them work/run their own businesses and Kyle's business just gained a new, very important and lucrative client. This means that he has to be in New York the week before the wedding. He is not happy about the situation but his partner assures him that he will be home on the Thursday. Not only is that happening but then it is announced that the first hurricane of the year, Hurricane Allie, is coming through! Allie, understandably, is upset with both the news about the hurricane and the fact that Kyle is going away. Allie has been planning her fairy tale wedding for years, long before she met Kyle. She has big plans and wants everything to be just right. In fact Kyle begins to wonder if she is just marrying him for the wedding. In this story we see Allie gradually change from a very immature, self-centered young woman to someone who trusts in the Lord and sees Him work all the details out. The hurricane comes through but will the wedding still go on? Will Kyle even be able to get home? So yes, Allie really aggravated me at the beginning but I could see as the ending came in, that here was a couple who truly benefited from the trial put before them and grew from it. There was the odd editing error but nothing major. A clean romance.

Beautiful short romantic read
Loved how both characters weighed the seriousness of their commitment and the suspense of the hurricane' s impact on their plans. Recommend for anyone looking for a short, cozy Christian romance.

It was a nice little read without crime and sex so I did enjoy it. I would not give it a five though as it was just a nice normal book. Nothing to really get excited about, and you really knew how it would end. However it was what I was looking for in a change of the same old lady detectives and crime fighting heroes. I would recommend it for it for those looking for a nice comfy read.

Really liked this one
Just finished reading Hurricane Allie and loved it. Of course, I have loved all of Rachel Hauck's books to date.I ought to mention I have lived through two hurricanes back in the late 1940's when my dad's job took us to central Florida for a time so I could relate. Rachel is a gifted writer and I have never been disappointed in anything she has written

what happens when a storm cancels your wedding?
If you are Allie Seton, you have planned a storybook wedding. Then Hurricane Allie shows up to thwart your plans and your groom starts wondering if you love him or if you're just in love with the idea of being married. Then your family and friends pull together a wedding that's just as good as what you'd planned if not better.

Whimsy
It's the kind of story you can sit down and read in a few hours. Sweet. Allie becomes more obsessed with her dream wedding than the man who had been her sweetheart for almost forever. His concern is the future they will build together but before that future can even start, there is a little bit of distance and a hurricane to contend with.

A delightful book to read!
Hurricane Allie was a delightful book to read! Rachel Hauck did a wonderful job to write a complete story in a novella! I thoroughly enjoyed it and will read more of Rachel Haucks books. I think that a bride tends to get so caught up in the wedding preparations that she sometimes forgets what it is really about. Rachel led Allie and Kyle down the path to discover that it wasn't just about having the perfect ceremony, at the perfect place, but being married together for life!
