Great
Great as surrounds. Haven't driven hard yet but the soundstage was immediately clearly a league above my previous (kef) surrounds

Superb speakers for the money
I tested these against the Q Acoustic 5020s and the Dali Oberon 1s. The KEFs far surpassed both sets on soundstage and separation. The Q Acoustics were a very close second on tone, and were better than the KEFs on the high frequencies picking out tiny bells and percussion and bringing them to the forefront, but this was almost to a fault being a bit too bright for me. The KEFs are flatter with a fuller mid-range and thicker bass.Round up; the KEFs deliver a fantastic balanced, almost flat, even tone from highs to bass, and an impressively wide soundstage. They may not be the most exciting on first listen, but given a day or two you'll start hearing things you hadn't noticed before in music you've heard a hundred times. You'd have to spend a lot more to get significantly better.

Great Audio! Not So Great Speaker Veneer!
I love the KEF Q1 META Speakers! The audio seems to me to be well balanced across the whole frequency range and they produce a nice sense of spaciousness in the music. They're also just as 'revealing' of the audio as I hoped and expected from a KEF product. They're wonderfully revealing but they don't sound in any way harsh, so they're great for focussed listening sessions.Basically in my experience of the KEF Q1 META Speakers thus far, I'm entirely happy with how they sound and the detail that they draw out of my CD collection.Unfortunately, also as expected from a KEF Speaker that has sharp corners, the veneer/wrap on the front bottom corners on one of them started to very slightly come away from the Speaker Cabinet very quickly, for no apparent reason, and after extremely careful handling.I noticed this happen on my previous KEF Q-350s as well, so this appears to be a weakness in Speaker design that KEF really needs to address. For that reason the KEF Q1 META Speakers lose one star.I've suggested to KEF that they should ensure they the edge of the veneer wrap on their Speakers should always be somewhere on the underside, not on such a vulnerable place as the front corner.Unfortunately the response that I got from KEF as a result of this constructive customer feedback was disappointingly non-committal, so I doubt that they'll take my suggestion on board.Would I recommend that people buy these Speakers?...Yes, definitely! They sound great!Just make sure that you put some kind of corner protectors on them as soon as you get them!
