I've purchased more than a dozen pairs over the years
These headphones have been around for years and I've been using them for just as long. I've been so spoiled for hands-free calling that when I do have to hold the phone to my ear I feel like something is very wrong.I'm getting older and my ears aren't what they used to be, but I've never had a problem hearing with these headsets. Ear buds really hurt my ears, but these are light and very comfortable. I switched to headsets back in the 90's when i realized that I was getting a rash from the phone handset and of course this set does keep the bacteria off my cheek and jaw like any other would. People never complain about how I sound. Not one pair has come out of the box defective. Not one pair has failed early or without GOOD reason. I've come to trust that any set I receive will be well packaged and will have survived the mail. Never once had reason to return a pairAnd good quality control is REALLY important because I've gone through a LOT of them. Why? Well, lots of reasons. I have cats who seem to find the cord particularly nice for teething. They've been sat on, dropped, and tossed on various surfaces. I must snag a cord on my kitchen cabinet handles and rip them off my head at least once a week. And, other than the cat teeth, they take the abuse surprisingly well. Without the cat teeth, each pair lasts well over a year. The price is low enough that it doesn't bother me to replace them every once in awhile. Now I never use the mute function, so I really can't attest to that one thing. But the Panasonic hands free headset works like no other and does it's job well.Great company.

Great sound, good pick up. Make certain you need a 2.5mm. Not for cell phones without an adapter, (cell is 3.5mm)
I use this kind of headphone with my house phone. It uses a 2.5mm jack. Everyone, note, the Panasonic phones use a 2.5mm jack and these headphones come with a 2.5mm jack.Half the negative review are people who think it will fit a cell phone. It won't without an adapter. The cell is 3.5mm. This is 2.5mm.So, before buying this headset, check you input jack size. If your cell phone headset fits the phone you are going to use, the jack is 3.5mm.Don't get this headset. But, if you have a Panasonic or any 2.5mm jack, this is great. They work fine, they fit comfortable, and the sound is perfect.Yes, they don't last forever, they are lightweight, they're not stereo, but, they work and sound great to the user and the listener. The price has gone up, the design is a little different, but these are the ones to get

Landline phone. Volume OK. Good enough
I bought these for my landline Panasonic DECT phone that's many many years old and they work great. Can use them for the left or right ear, I'm left. The fit of the earpiece is comfortable and the headset part is adjustable to the top of your head and the mic is adjustable. It has a mute button that works, and a volume dial that controls the sound but it isn't very loud even after turning up the vol from the phone. The cord length is good enough. The cord plug is 2.5m and not the typical headphone 3.5m. Seems like it is well made. It's worth it.

Good Headset
This works perfectly. The Sound is good. Adjustable headset is comfortable. This is the 2nd time I purchased this headset. The first one lasted a few years. But what happens is the padding that rests against your ear starts to breakdown and fall apart, leaving little particles on your ear. With the new set I'm trying to remember to wipe it frequently, hoping to prevent that problem.

Update to: DON'T BUY THIS!!!
Maybe you saw my previous review about this garbage from Panasonic. If not, it's copied below. The summary is that I bought a PANASONIC telephone headset on Amazon that was garbage - terrible sound quality in the earpiece. Two years earlier, I had bought a PANASONIC telephone headset that was just as useless; for the same reason. The latest is that Amazon goofed and sent me a "replacement" when I wanted a refund, and ....can you guess?....the replacement was just as bad as the first two.If you're keeping score, it's three tries for Panasonic, and three GARBAGE headsets. NONE of them are useable!!!!!So my message is simple: DON'T BUY PANASONIC HEADSETS.I have actually contacted Panasonic about this dismal result - three out of three units are useless, proving they are building garbage products. I invited them to send me one headset that wasn't garbage and they declined. Clearly, they don't care about quality. They simply advised me to contact the online retailer.Based on that, I'll never never ever buy ANY Panasonic product again! My previous review:Sound quality is so bad that this Panasonic headset is UNUSABLE! I tried it twice today when I made calls, and immediately after reaching the people I called, I had to pause to pick up my desktop phone. I had the headset plugged into a cordless handset, part of a standard (older) PANASONIC landline phone system, you'd think they would be compatible, right? So the root cause is just bad quality components..The problem with the headset is that the sound I hear in my ear is so muddy and muffled it's all but impossible to hear what the person is saying to me.A couple years ago I bought a similar Panasonic branded headset to use with the same Panasonic cordless landline phone. The sound from that one was just as bad as this new one. I was credited for my purchase and never used the headset. At that point, I went to a local office supply store and ordered a Plantronics headset that sounded great until a problem developed with it two weeks ago. I suspect was just a broken wire in the cord going to the handset. All of these are in the same price range, under $30.Bottom line: DON'T BUY PANASONIC!
