Quilter's Slidelock 24" Lighted Edge

For years I have had issues with my ruler slipping when using my rotary cutter from weakness in my hands. I have previously had carpel tunnel surgery on both hands and also have arthritis. For the last two years I have had to do any cutting horizontally so I could lay my entire arm down on the ruler and cutting right to left across my body so that I could hold the ruler secure. Certainly not the safest way to go about it. I thought long and hard about the purchase of yet another "gimmick" ruler tool but WOWZA! this is totally amazing and has probably added a decade onto my quilting life. It absolutely does what it says on the videos and is easy to use. No more stress on my hands. The tool is well made. Get this, you won't regret it. My only negative would be I thought the price was a bit much but after having it for a week, I am a believer and I am once again looking forward to making some new quilts.

I'm new to quilting and I would slightly move my guide when cutting by pressing to hard with my cutter, not realizing my guide was shifting! VERY FRUSTRATING!!! Saw this video and bought it for an upcoming quilt I have to make HST! It has been great for everything I have used it one...squaring a quilt? PERFECT! Trimming edges? PERFECT!! No slip or slide??? PERFECT!!! A great tool to have!

I am a “beginner quilter.“ I saw a YouTube video where someone was using this. I Came to Amazon, put it in my cart a few times and took it out, too. Did I need this? The price was a little steep. But I am SO HAPPY I Finally bought it because it is amazinggggggg!!! Cutting accuracy is on point when I use this and it keeps all the fabric in place- no slipping, wrinkling up or moving out of place. The yellow coloring makes it so easy to see the edges. Probably the best product I have purchased since I started sewing. I love this slidelock!

It's a little pricey, but this thing is amazing for doing longer cuts without struggling with the ruler or fabric shifting as you go. I was using a weight on a regular ruler before, and now I don't have to fuss with lifting and placing that every time. The only thing I can think of right now that would make it even better would be ruler markings!

Much more stable than using regular ruler alone. I like that it holds multiple layers of fabric securely without slipping and that it keeps my hand away from the rotary cutter blade. Less strain on my hand because I don’t have to spider up the longer rulers. It’s a little pricey, however the quality is good.

This guide is easy to use and eliminates problems with your straight edge slipping while cutting fabric. This means no errors, so no fabric waste and no lost time. It seems well constructed and sturdy, so I expect it to last a long time.

I have problems seeing, and I never could cut a straight line if my life depended on it. The first time I used it, finally a straight line! I wish I had this a long time ago. I cut a lot of bags and pouches and this is just the right size for the inset pocket pieces. I found myself looking for patterns of mine to cut out! It is really well made to. The wooden handle is so smooth you just want to keep rubbing your hand on it. It doesn’t take a lot of strength to push down on it to lock it to the fabric. That is wonderful because I don’t have as much strength as I used to. I pushed down on it and tried to make it move, but it didn’t budge an inch. It does everything it says it will do. Definitely worth every penny.
