We have a sewing school and more than half of our machines are the Bernette B35. It’s easy to thread and wind a bobbin. The needle threader can be hit or miss but it’s a good machine for beginners. We also teach elsewhere and they have another brand of a heavy duty machine. This machine is better. It has some great stitches for mending too. If you check out Sew Mastery on YouTube they have a whole series on this machine.

I was a little hesitant to order a sewing machine on-line....without trying it first. But, it was a good decision! I bought it to replace my daughter's OVER-USED Bernina sewing machine which made many long trips in cars and airplanes and used by many people at those destinations! The new one is almost the same as what she had, so hoping it lasts just as long, if not longer! The only downside I see is it does not have a carrying case...so, maybe now it will "stay at home"! Bernina machines are the BEST!

I was very confused by the various packages of “accessories” available with this machine. Bernette classifies an assortment of accessories (tools, extra presser feet, etc) as “standard,” but none of them were included. It’s going to cost a fortune to add them now. Otherwise a good machine. Just realize that nothing comes with it unless you add to the order.

Wow this machine has been great. It's quiet, easy to work, and was reasonable priced for a Bernette. My Bernina died after 40 + years and I didn't want to spend the money for a computerized machine. Highly recommend if you want to just sew without fancy stuff.
