Grizzly Claw was the most recent coffee my wife and I tried out. We wanted to try a number of Kicking Horse coffee's, since we've generally loved everything that we had since tried from them. We have now tried every single dark roast that they sell, along with their Three Sisters medium roast. While Kick Ass is still our favorite, Grizzly Claw is a close second. Outstanding flavor, low acidity, a hint of chocolate, and an awesome name, this roast will please any coffee fan - even the wimps who normally enjoy light roasts/water. If, for whatever reason, Kick Ass is out of stock when I need it, this is my back up roast.Are the beans a little oily? Yes, but most dark roasts have oily beans. It's the nature of the beast, and really not an issue. Nobody is going to have any issues grinding these beans (use a cylindrical burr grinder for the best results).

Until I had my first cup of this, that is. After a long wait to get this coffee due to shipping to an FPO address, I was wondering if this coffee would even be worth the time it took to get here. When I finally got it, I decided to try it black, with only a bit of sugar to see if I could taste the chocolate in it and to see just what the fuss was about. I can say this, The coffee is VERY smooth and rich in flavor, and the chocolate is actually noticeable. I don't think I'll ever put creamer in this roast. Definitely better than any coffee I've had before, Highly recommended!

Bear claw has to be one of my favorites that they make. I am very picky about my coffee, and the flavor. I have tried many expensive brands of coffee that were far more expensive that just lacked in flavor. But, kicking horse bear claw is just amazing. I buy whole bean only, and grind enough for a few days so my coffee tastes fresh.

Unremarkable, probably overvalued

Good rich flavor, we use it to make espresso for lattes every day. Happy that it’s organic too!

Grizzly Claw is by far the best Kicking Horse Coffee. It's rich, it's not too acidic or "earthy", and it doesn't mind if you use a little less beans to make it weak, or a little extra for a real kick. Now that the summer months are approaching, I like to make an extra strong pot and throw ice cubes and cold cream in to make a homemade iced coffee that destroys the big chain brands.

I somehow managed to live most of my life NOT drinking coffee, but a few years ago a friend gifted me a coffee cup and a pour over that she'd made at a pottery shop. I felt compelled to actually use it instead of letting it sit and collect dust. I've learned how to make a good cup of coffee that I enjoy, and along the way have learned what types of coffee my body will accept without giving me heartburn (*shakes fist at getting old*).I've mostly stuck to store brand dark roasts and they totally taste somewhat like what I figure coffee should taste like. On a whim I decided to buy a package of Kicking Horse Grizzly Claw (I'm a sucker for interestingly named products), figuring I might need to branch out and actually have some *good* coffee.It was a good whim. This IS good coffee. If you've gotten this far, I know it seems like there should be a recipe coming soon after all of this preamble, so you'll be disappointed to know there isn't one, just a subtle recommendation from a novice coffee drinker than you should probably just buy this and try it if you're humming and hawing over your decision.

What I don't like and I never have seen when I opened the bag, coffee was like mix with oil!When I took this coffee beens by my hand it was so wet and oily, what is that? We cannot use this coffee in our coffee machine , it’s not so good and I read, if coffee very oily, it means problem with oxygen , not good(I think I need to back this coffee beans, now it’s problem, We cannot back, I read it. Anyway , it’s a garbage, we throw out this bag(

Des poches de grains cafés entreposer dans le sous sol dans la maison de ma grand mère, car elle une femme avant son temps a implanté dans sa propre boutique de café à Québec un café fait avec de vrais grains importés. Donc croyez moi je suis bien placé pour vous dire l excellence de mon choix sur Amazon.

I selected this coffee because I wanted to get a good product while supporting a local small town business during these hard times. However, quality is still the supreme importance. I was so excited when it came that I immediately opened it to smell the aroma. Crestfallen but still full of hope I brewed a batch.Unfortunately the overwhelming flavour is that of sour charcoal. I didn't detect any rich decadent dark chocolate unless they meant that they hit some with a blow torch and mixed the ashes in. I've never been more disappointed with a coffee purchase in my life.Due to the price and this result, I am loathe to try a different blend from this company.
