Men's Pro Diver Watch

This is a great looking watch and is a mash-up of the Rolex Submariner & Omega Seamaster. I call it the Sub($35)Master. For the less than $35 I got it for and even if it were $55 I give it 5 stars. It's insane how nice it looks, the fit & finish, & how solidly made this is for the price. Even the bracelet is solid and the clasp is well made with 4 micro adjustment holes. I have and love my Seiko watches but not even they can do this at the price, and Timex doesn't even come close. Seiko has folded bracelets at the lower price point but they do have good automatic movements. I purchased several of these Invictas to look at including the 8932OB with the Rolex Submariner type bezel and the 40mm automatics, but this is the one I like most. The 8932OB is the same size but just looks slightly too flat and small even my 6.75mm wrists. The Omega Seamaster styled bezel on this one has a little more material around the outer edge of the bezel and more marking in the black area, enough to make a visual difference so that it just looks big enough. BTW, this has a 38mm bezel and 37-37.5mm case. It is Not 39mm as written in the description. It looks small for a diver watch design, smaller than my Seiko SKX013 and it might be too small if you have 7in+ wrists. There are other small differences between this and the 8932OB. The case has a more defined bevel, the lugs are is very lightly differently shaped, the crystal is slighlty thicker with a more noticeable bevel, and the numbers and markings around the bezel are different and more like the Seamaster. I like the bezel on this one better, it's more substantial, looks classier and more refined, and doesn't reflect as many little points of light so it's less shiny/blingy. I do wish this were about 1mm wider and thicker. The 40mm auto version is very tall, boxy and flashy, and looks like it is 2 sizes bigger. The one legitimate con is that the lume sucks and only lasts for a few minutes. Some other very minor and nit-picky negatives I can think of are: the minute hand moves around a little when the crown is pushed back in so you have to compensate 15-30 secs when setting it, and the brushing on the top of the lugs is noticeably different from the brushing on the bracelet. The crown doesn't screw down and although 200 meters is written on the dial, I wouldn't expect this to survive even 1 meter of water. You can't expect a screw down crown for this price, but crazy as it sounds, the 40mm auto version has both a screw down crown and a very good Seiko NH35 automatic movement for $90, $55 when it's on sale. This is going to make a very good beater watch that I don't have to worry about, and looks good enough to be a primary watch if you really just want something that looks good.

Feels much higher quality than the price reflects. The glow on the dials could be a bight brighter, but all and all great for the money!

Nice looking watch

Nice watch, keeps time well.I really like the size, weight and style. I am taking off a star because I keep moving the crown out when I put my hand in my pocket and it stops keeping time. The crown just doesn't seem to lock in firmly as I would expect.

Update, it failed the torture text. ===》BUT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT WATCH.《=== It got pretty beat up in the paint shaker, when it kind of came loose and was slapping around violently. But at that time it was still running, I didn't check if it was keeping good time. Obviously I went too far. I will not be returning it because that wouldn't be fair, I will have friends of mine buy another one or two of these watches and keep one of them for myself, because I did the ground work of finding them a good watch. Amazon ad incorrect. It reads as. "Invicta Men's 3044 Stainless Steel Pro Diver Automatic Watch" But the statement of AUTOMATIC, leads one to believe that it is MECHANICAL. Invicta sells a mechanical version of this watch that looks almost identically the same, but it cost $220.00. The one I bought is the quartz version model 8932 written on the back of the watch for $55.12 under the listing of "Invicta Men's 3044 Stainless Steel Pro Diver Automatic Watch". Note, neither watch has a screw down crown. Depth rating 200 meters. I wanted an indestructible and completely waterproof divers watch, probably with a screw down crown or without a screw down crown. AND NOW THE TORTURE TEST!!!!!!!!!! Buy it, it survived!!!!!! I am a champion athlete. I carefully attach the watch between the spokes on my trailblazer 21-speed bicycle and hit the ground running hard tearing up the trails for 6 hours. Jumping Bridges, going through muddy trails and blazing the hot summer sun, some with the crown pulled out and some having the crown in. Next I put the watch in a paint mixer machine and let it run for an hour, then I clean the watch in 99% rubbing alcohol with the crown out and turning the hands back and forth 100 times under the alcohol solution. Next I submerge The Watch in heavy laundry detergent, again with the crown out. Then soaked it overnight in dishwashing soap this time with the crown in. And last, I've had it in the aquarium next to the bubbler so it can get a lot of water agitation and the fish can nibble on it. It's been there for 2 weeks and I can see it keeps perfect time. And is though that wasn't enough, I put it in the freezer overnight and thawed it out in a boiling pan of water. Not sure what other grueling test I will put it through, but I think I got a good one that will last. I hope this helps you to decide whether it's right for you.

This Invicta 8932 is a nice watch for those who want something a little more deluxe than the average Casio or Timex watch. I had recently bought a Casio for $21 from Amazon and decided to get a couple more watches that were basically the "next step up" on the watch food chain. My first Invicta purchase was the Invicta Men's 9310 Pro Diver Collection Swiss Quartz Watch which is a larger Swiss movement quartz-based version, with the blue bezel and silver and gold trim on the watchband. It seemed very well constructed and at the same time I purchased it, I bought a cheap set of watch tools 16 PCS Watch Tool Kit from Amazon for a little over $7 because I knew I was going to need to remove links from the band. Both the 9310 and the 8932 come with watchbands large enough to fit a retired NFL defensive tackle's wrist. Most guys will need to take out a link or more to get this watch to fit. The watchband resizing tool that comes with many of those cheap watch tool sets will do the job in about 10 minutes, once you get the hang of it. Simply line up the watchband in the slot and adjust it, so that the little hole that contains the pin for the link lines up with the pointy end of the tool and twist the screwdriver-like handle in the direction the arrow on the watchband link is pointing and out it pops! Repeat as necessary and re-insert a pin to join the watchband together and you've saved a trip to the jeweler's shop and a few bucks, in addition to learning a new skill. It's not rocket science! Some people have complained that upon receiving the 8932, it is smaller than they thought it might be. In comparing it to my 9310, the 8932 looks like a 7/8ths scale version. If you want that Rolex Submariner look and heft, you might consider the Invicta Men's 9307 Pro Diver Collection Stainless Steel Watch , which does have that look, at about $35 more than the 8932. Whether you buy the 8932 or the 9307, please remember that they are quartz watches and while they look very waterproof, they probably (from the number of complaints from other reviewers) aren't. If you expect to hold on to this watch as a minimum, until the battery dies (avg. 2-3 yrs, but ymmv!), the only water these watches should ever see would be the picture coming out of your TV set from the Discovery Channel during Shark Week. If you want to do Jacques Cousteau impressions with an Invicta Diver-style watch, you'd be better off with the Invicta Men's 8926 Pro Diver Collection Automatic Watch and its more expensive siblings, which are automatic, but have a screw-down crown, which aids in keeping water out. The downside to automatic watches is that they aren't quite as accurate as quartz watches are. These quartz models do not have screw-down crowns. I'm going to enjoy these "pretend Rolex look-alikes" for what they are and hope that when the battery dies in them, that I can easily replace it with the extra fancy watch-back opener Watch Case Opener Wrench Tool For Waterproof Watches Caseback I bought, in addition to the cheap watch tool set. These watches have screw-on backs. Wish me luck! BTW, since purchasing these new watches and tools, I've manage to repair every watch I've ever owned.

I’ve been very impressed with the appearance and build quality of this Invicta watch. The 37.5mm size looks better than larger versions, and the detailing holds up very well to close inspection. Its visual quality is well above its price point. I haven’t tested it for water resistance - I was surprised that with a 200m rating it does not have a screw-down crown, and I’m not quite sure it would be up to its rating in that respect… but I got it for the rotating timer bezel, not for swimming. One negative I’ve found is that the bezel is not as easy to grip as it would be with a rougher knurling, but I have very dry hands and this may not be an issue for other people. My only other criticism is that the luminescent paint on the hands and markers is not as bright s as it is on some other watches. One last follow-up two years later: even by Quartz standards, this has to be the most accurate watch I’ve ever had: it’s holding less than a second a week slow vs. atomic time. Not showing any visible signs of wear after two years of regular use. Still very satisfied.

(EDITED REVIEW) I am old school. I like watches. I feel naked without a wristwatch. For $60 I have a watch that is both refined and unpretentious, but masculine and weighty. It is not a Rolex or a Tag Heuer, the style is subdued, but classic, and the price tag is affordable. I read many reviews of Invicta watches, and bought this watch after some research. Invicta has a strong support group, people that love the watches and collect them. I am afraid that I will hesitate on my next purchase. I gave this watch five stars after owning it a few months without any issues. It kept perfect time. I was expecting that a watch labeled as a diving watch did not have a screw down crown, but I was not expecting to go diving. I just wanted a replacement for a Citizen watch I had for many years, that kept accurate time and was water resistant to 30 meters. Invicta advertizes this watch to be water resistant to 200 meters. My experience indicates that the watch is not even water resistant at two meters. I went swimming on Memorial Day weekend - by swimming I mean hanging out at the side of the poos drinking gin and tonics. I might have dived into the pool two times, and did a couple laps. I was dismayed when the next morning I noticed condensation under the crystal. Using my tool to remove the screw on back, I noticed the O-ring was mis-aligned, so I wrote the condensation to a Friday afternoon assembly. I placed the watch in a bag of rice to remove all moisture. After re-assembly, the watch began losing time. The warranty process is expensive - why would I pay $28 for return shipping - how are they shipping this, by personal courier? That is more than 1/3 of the price of the watch! Their warranty is also illegally voided if you have the watch serviced by any other than an authorized Invicta dealer. Anyway - the watch eventually began functioning properly, keeping fairly accurate time. I had to adjust the time periodically, as it lost about a minute a month. Then, against my better judgment, I wore the watch while tubing on the Salt River. Again the condensation, and after de-moisturizing the watch in a bag of rice, it just stopped working off and on. So now it is a $70 piece of trash. It stops working intermittently on a daily basis. There are many people that are pleased with their Invicta watches - I cannot count my self among them. If a watch cannot survive a dip in a swimming pool, it has no right calling itself a diving watch, let alone a "professional" diving watch. When I save up enough money, I will likely buy another Citizen watch. Sure it costs 3 ro 4 times as much as an Invicta, but my Citizen performed flawlessly for well over a decade of use and abuse. If you want to take your chances with an Invicta, just make sure you don't get it wet and it should perform just fine. It is a good looking watch. It kept perfect time until that first time I got it wet.

This is my first Invicta watch. I must say it lives up to the hype for build quality people report. For the money you simply can't go wrong with this watch if you like this homage style in a very wearable size. I intentionally purchased this smaller 8932 quartz as a daily wear watch so it wouldn't be too cumbersome and it isn't. Will now buy a larger Invicta Men's 8928OB as well as I see that this one meets expectations and I can anticipate equally good quality from the larger 8928OB with Seiko NH35A movement automatic and screw down crown. I torture my watches so at this price I am not concerned about repair costs; I will simply replace the watch if/when I destroy it. No wonder watch snobs don't like Invicta. They really challenge whether it's worth paying 100X the price for a little more watch and little more than a name. Nicer build watch at the price than similarly priced watches and a pleasure to have no concerns about taking extra care over damaging the watch from wearing it during activities where any watch likely could be damaged. If there was one thing I would upgrade in the build for extra durability it would be a sapphire crystal but at the price I'm not complaining. I did my research and based on build, price, reputation and availability Invicta came out on top. Water resistance I gave it a 3 out of 5 only for the fact it is not a screw down crown but I don't intend to dive with it. Quartz vs self winding automatic movement and no screw down appear to be sacrifices made to fit in this smaller form factor and as it stands it is a lower priced Invicta than the larger one's that have these extra features. An elegant twist on the submariner in this smaller size. Nice little treat.
