Excellent action camera with amazing image quality
I bought the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro as a birthday present to myself, and I'm really impressed with it. The image quality is excellent, with sharp photos and smooth 4K video. The colours look natural, and the stabilisation is fantastic, even when walking. I've also been testing the camera at night. Like any action camera with a small sensor, very dark scenes have their limits, but using Pro mode and SuperNight gives surprisingly good results once you learn the settings. It's been fun experimenting and learning what the camera can do. The touchscreen is responsive, the battery life is excellent, and it's very easy to use. I've also fitted screen protectors to keep it safe. I bought it mainly for an upcoming holiday to Egypt, where I'll be filming underwater and exploring historical sites, and I'm confident it'll do an amazing job. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality action camera

Excellent upgrade from Osmo Action 3
I am slightly miffed this was on Vine for review (seeing a lot of these reviews, no idea how they got theirs), my wife is on Vine but I never saw this available (at all). anyway. I paid for this with my own money, this is my review. Coming from Osmo Action 3 this is quite a big upgrade, where as I have heard the 4 to 5 Pro is not much of an upgrade, people have also had problems with this unit, I have heard there are some things DJI need to sort. At first, unboxing and pairing with my phone, it refused to update the firmware and would not pair with my phone, kept saying Error Connecting to Unit, restart and retry. It also wouldn't turn off. I'd turn off the unit, within seconds it turned itself back on. I eventually took the battery out, restarted the Osmo Action 5 Pro and it then paired and upgraded, not had an issue since. While going through the settings, there are loads of new features from the Action 3 to Action 5 Pro, like Subject Tracking, the Battery Life and the better low light performance. I didn't upgrade the Action 3 to the Action 4 as I didn't really see the upgrade of features outweighed the price difference, it did everything I needed 4k 120fps etc. Where as to the Action 5 Pro, there are plenty of new features that makes it worth the upgrade in my opinion. Also I was a bit annoyed at DJI with their new battery grip is only compatible with the 4 and 5 Pro, not 3. This was another reason to upgrade. Apart from the bad start with the firmware, which is now sorted, I haven't seen or experienced anything that is annoying or frustrating, nothing I don't like, it seems great and very happy I upgraded.

good camera for snorkalling
after reading lots of reviews i opted for this DJI osmo action 5 pro. i took it away to mexico with me in the hope of taking it snorkalling and managed to snap this pics of a turtle. i added a snorkal handle accessory and an underwater case, but these pics were taken without the case (which as i didnt dive to any depths it didnt need). not having the case on made it easier to use and access functions whilst under water. the camera was easy to use and the app meant i could easily extract the pics and videos to my phone. this was also used for jumping off a catamaran into the sea etc. and held up well taking all sorts of pics. i havent tried it for anything else yet.

“Smooth, Sharp, and Built to Last – Just Adjust the Colors”
⭐ 4/5 – Fantastic Action Cam, Just Needs Color Tweaks Bought the DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro for hiking and mountain biking—wow. Footage is buttery smooth thanks to HorizonSteady/RockSteady, and the detail is crazy good even at sunset. The dual OLED screens are bright in full sun, and the battery lasts longer than my GoPro ever did. Love that it has built-in storage so I can shoot right away. Only downsides? Colors look a bit cartoonish out of the box—switch to D-Log for natural tones—and you need the DJI app to activate, so make sure you can get it where you live. Overall, rock-solid build, great features, and worth the money if you’re serious about action footage. ⸻

Upgrade from Osmo action 3
I bought that camera after I saw advert that Dji have released Osmo action 5. I was using Osmo action 3 for last couple years and everything was great apart from low light performance which I was hoping get better. I was tempted to upgrade to action 4 but did not feel that it will be much of an upgrade from 3. And I am really happy that I have waited and finally got Action 5 pro. Action 5 got same great built quality as any dji product. It feels premium just holding it in your hand. All Action 3 accessories are compatible with 5 so I do not need to spend any extras on batteries and mounts which is great. Video quality is great with biggest difference noticeable in low light even without super night mode on. Super night mode works almost in pitch black conditions which is crazy, but don't expect cinematic quality as sensor size is still too small for night shots. But at least it is usable. All in all I am really happy with upgrade. This is my all round camera which I use for home videos, beach and ski holidays and now I feel I will not need to take my phone out of pocket in the evening to capture great shots. 5 stars from me. PS. Update after 2 months of use. This is great camera and just getting better and better with firmware updates. Stabilisation is great, tested with bicycle in the forest, cant wait going skiing with that later this year. And I stopped using my phone when i got camera with me so videos turn out a lot better now as they filmed on one device. There is a lot more reviews now and I am just amazed how people can give 1 star because of delivery issues or they cannot install app on the phone without playstore (how do they manage to edit videos on PC - seriously). Tell more about quality of sound without mic and picture, delivery is not camera or dji issue. Just to let you know I am not sponsored by DJI and actually getting Gopro 10 used for my son as they are tad cheaper now than Osmo action 3/4.

Check for smartphone compatibility for the DJI app otherwise the camera won't work!!!!
I bought this camera last year for a holiday. For some reason, I had a limited amount of times (x7 times?) of using this camera unless I download the DJI app on my mobile phone and link it to the camera, otherwise the camera will completely shut down and not function at all (that was the warning I got from a message on the camera). However my old mobile phone is not compatible with the DJI app. I tried to get this sorted via the DJI website customer service, which is basically a chatbot, which did not help me at all. I will visit a DJI store in person soon (one year too late however! I only recently discovered there is a store you can physically access), and unfortunately its too late for me to get a refund. I feel very disappointed I bought this product in the first place. I intend on selling it off, to someone who hopefully has the right mobile phone for the app to be installed. And to be honest, I'm getting tired of new technology generally trying to lure people in to download their app and having all sorts of complicated requirements, just to use a product. Products should be simple to start using straight away, and it shouldn't be complicated to get decent customer service too, and it shouldn't be an issue to sustainably use what you've paid for. I paid roughly £300 something for this. Do check if you have the right smartphone compatibility for this if you want to purchase it.
