Second the Vote for "Dangerous" - Parents Beware
We have the same tent in our household, except for in the Sea color. On day two, our daughter had the lantern fall down on her head. The small plastic lantern hook had moved itself on the fabric loop, and her lying down shifted the tent enough for it to fall. Up until that point, she couldn't keep herself out of the tent and loved it. Afterward, the lantern sat on the counter but she was still very hesitant to spend any time inside. A day or two later we used a strap of velcro to fasten the light through the loop to keep it in place, and she has learned to pull the cord gently. After reading the other review about the entire loop tearing off, we'll probably look to reinforcing that also since she really enjoys having her own light inside the tent. After the accident, we called both Target (where it was purchased) and B. (the company brand) to report the issue. Target took the details for reference, and B. chose to respond that the product was designed that way. The company representative who answered their 800 number seemed unconcerned that the small hook did not prevent a substantial amount of weight from crashing onto a toddler's head, and said the lantern is designed to be removable so that children can carry it around. The company also was not receptive to a suggestion that the hook be replaced with some sort of latching clamp to make it more difficult to dislodge. Our decision was to make modifications to the product to improve its safety, since it is structurally sound other than the lantern attachment and our child likes the product. With a different lantern situation, this would have been rated more highly. As it is, we will deduct two stars and not recommend that any parent give this to their child without inspecting the lantern hook and loop and taking whatever precautions they feel is appropriate. At least for our child, we are checking the lamp daily to determine if it needs to be removed entirely.

Cute, but not durable.
I bought this for my two toddlers. On day one, my son (3 years old) immediately yanked the light down and snapped the plastic hook. It fell on his head. We used a carbinger to hook it to the top of the tent again, only to have the small fabric piece that is supposed to hold the hook rip off. the lamp fell again. The children are SUPPOSED to tug on the lamp to turn it on, so this should definitely be more durable. A gentle pull would do it, but there's no guarantee a child is always going to have a gentle touch. The fabric of the tent is actually quite strong. It's thicker than regular tent material. There's a window of mesh on one side, which the kids love to look out of. The poles are typical tent poles and make it easy to put together (though they don't stay in the notches and can be considered dangerous.)It does not come with any sort of storage bag, which is a huge pain.It is, however, beautiful. I bought it to help with imaginitive play and it certainly helps stimulate that. The colors are vibrant and the top with the little triangles is adorable. It reminds me of scouts. The light is probably quite nice as long as it stays where it is supposed to. I tried holding it up with my arm, but the effect isn't as nice. I'll have to sew something stronger in. It's also quite large. It fits my two toddlers and myself sitting in there with no problems.Overall, I'd try and wait until B fixes some of the major issues with the design of the hook area for the light. It honestly is too dangerous as is for children. As another reviewer stated as well, this sells for about $40 at Target. (Still a bit too high for the issues, I'd say. B toys are usually better made, but not on this one.)

Sturdy and fun
We bought this over a year ago and our kids are very rough with it and have moved it from room to room. They have taken it apart and put it back together snd so far it has held up nicely. My daughter likes to sleep in it under the glow lamp.

Fun but can tip over
My kids love this tent. However, I agree with others that it isn't safe. I haven't had issues with the lantern, though that is good to know and watch out for. My concern is that my toddler at 15 months old was able to tip it over while she was inside. She was playing peek-a-boo through the window on the side, and in her excitement, she pushed on the window which caused the teepee to tip over. She landed face down (thankfully on carpet and there was no sharp corners nearby). Maybe this is less of a problem since the tent is aimed at older kids (I see manufacturer's recommended age is 3 and up), but I can imagine a 3yo toppling it over. My 7yo pushes on the sides, too. He's just too tall to stand up inside, so he kneels and has a low center of gravity.

Well made. Perfect escape for a small child
My three year old loves this. In a small house she has a private space to escape to, and loves to sit in there and play

Poles break easily NOT PVC - Plastic wrapped paper?
We received this as a gift for our twins, in a matter of weeks, the poles bent/snapped. They are not made of PVC, but appears to be compressed material wrapped in tape or thin plastic. If the manufacturer can reply to this and send us 3 replacement poles I would change this 1 star. Kids loved it but no amount of tape is holding it up!

Got this for the granddaughter for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. The rest of the presents had to wait until the Teepee was set up.
