One of the best 50mm lenses I’ve used!
This lens is amazing! I have the Sigma 35mm / 85mm / 70-200 and was thinking about adding the 50 to the family for a while. I was lucky to use one on a shoot with a friend and I was so amazed by the performance of the lens I purchased it the next day.

No questions asked: this is the best and sharpest portrait lens I have ever used, Eye AF is snappy making it ideal for portraiture and headshots.

Stunning Lens
Build quality is top notch, is a little heavy but it’s what you expect when holding quality glass. Image quality is pin sharp even at 1.4 and low light performance is amazing I shot a full event with this lens in a dark club with neons as the only light source and this lens didn’t miss a beat once. Autofocus was very fast and accurate at 1.4 in the dark. I’m so impressed with this lens I’m getting the 24mm 1.4 and considering switching my 35 and 85 to the sigma 1.4 art range too.

If you have 60mp then this isn't good enough
Where do I start...The corners of the picture look no different than photos from a mobile. The centre is not very sharp at 1.4 and anything white comes out purple (cf). Also I find I have to mf to get right because af slightly off.Also the af is noisy and annoys people I'm taking photo of if I have in caf modeMaybe I have to try the zeiss but it's 3x more £

Excelente instalado en Sony a7III funciona perfecto un poco pesado pero si no te importa es el lente ideal al igual calidad precio no hay nada mejor.

The Price for the Sharpness 👌(This review was based on the Older Model of this Lens)
I remember borrowing my friend’s 50mm 1.4 Sigma ART about 6 months ago, and I just fell in love with what this lens can do, and I was finally able to pick this up a month ago.The sharpness is incredible for it’s great price, I use this with my A7Rii, so my pictures come out pretty well detailed.The lens produces very nice bokeh. They’re well out of focus, and nicely circular.The autofocus isn’t too bad, but I almost don’t really care about it, I got this lens for the sharpness of my images.The lens is pretty heavy, and big. But I don’t mind it. The build quality is solid, and I love the design. Although I do wish the focus ring was more smooth to turn, It isn’t as buttery smooth as the focus ring on my Sony FE 24-105 F/4 G OSSAll in all, I mainly got this lens for the sharpness it can produce, and for the price (which btw is over $200 cheaper than on b&h). This lens gets a 5 star from me.

Après quelques semaines de tests sur un Sony a7 II, c'est un objectif de très bonne facture, avec de très bons rendus photos.
