I first ordered a cheaper dowel jig from another vendor on Amazon, and did not like that one. The jig was so sharp on the edges that handling it was very unpleasant, I felt I would cut/scrape myself constantly. I returned that jig and got this one due to the many good reviews and it was so worth it. This jig is very nicely smooth on the edges, which made handling so much more pleasant. This was much larger and heavier than the previous jig I got; that seemed to be the result of substantial quality material and larger capacity- it worked very well. I like the wide capacity jaws. I actually liked that it was wider and larger as it seemed to be more stable and easier to position correctly on the work piece. I also really liked that it came with instructions on how to calibrate the jig if necessary. The jig came correctly calibrated. I am happy to pay more for a quality product that will be useful for many years, not just become junk when I need to tackle a bigger/more important project in the future. What especially made it worthy of a review was their great customer service. I had problems with the 3/8 drill guides, and at first, was confused that I could not contact them directly via their webpage (it would redirect me back to amazon). So I messaged the company through Amazon and James, the agent who responded, was so great. He was polite and prompt, and immediately responded that he would send me out another set of drill guides. The set he sent me arrived quickly, but they accidentally gave me 3 of the 1/4 inch guides and only 1 of the 3/8 inch guides. I contact James again, and he immediately apologizes and sends me out another set! I offered to pay for an additional set and he said they don't have it set up to buy replacement drill guides but that they would be happy for me to contact them if I have any issues in the future. Thank you James! And having contacted them more than once, I believe him. I am really glad to have a quality product backed by a quality company who are responsive and helpful. So this turned out to be a great investment in my tool box! I also liked that it came in different colors so I can find it quick amongst my other tools. I've just used this jig to add extensions to the back of the Ikea billy bookcase (to make it deeper). This jig was great, and my project finished wonderfully- no screw holes or fasteners visible, all with the dowels and woodglue! It's turned out beautifully and we're so pleased. This jig made it possible and efficient, and I look forward to using it for other projects in the future.

As advertised, already used it to repair a cabinet door I thought I was going to throw away. The jig paid for itself by not buying a new door. Have a much larger several days project coming up. Recommend one for every woodshop.

This worked better than I expected. Just take your time, line it up. Wish the center marks were easier to see, but nothing a silver Sharpie did not help.

Excellent, heavy duty jig. Comes with 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" drill guides. Check the alignment before use; I didnt and my first board was off. Its very eawsy to setup and use.

High quality and very accurate.

10/10 This is very well made and very easy to use. It works just like you think it would and just as shown. Its small and compact so easy to store and not to heavy. Accuracy is great! does not move when you clamp it down.

Nice but still off slightly after several adjustments, threads on main screw is tapered like all threads, so it's almost impossible to get to 100% accuracy
