Leder Gris Original Wax Oil 80g Proofing Neutral

When I ordered a tin of Leder Gris, I expected to receive a tin of the fairly hard wax oil that I was used to. What I received was a 100g pot of new formula Leder Gris paste. Devotees of Leder Gris will know that it is one of the best products around for keeping walking boot leather waterproof and in great condition. The only drawback is that, because it is a hard wax, isn't the easiest to apply and can be quite messy when you're doing it. Compared to the old formula Leder Gris, this new paste is a dream to apply. I can apply it with a cloth and it is quickly absorbed into the leather. Applying it to my Alt-Berg boots took 5 minutes or so and the results look great. I don't know how long the application will last, but time will tell.My one complaint about this new product is that the jar/pot is an absolute so-and-so to open! It's a PET jar with an aluminium lid. I had to resort to my oil filter wrench to get the top off. Otherwise this is a great product

Great product after a generous application my boots have kept water out for a week on the fells .

Disappointingly this now comes in a cheap plastic tub, not the original boot polish style metal tin with the cool design on top

I use this on all my leather boots, and the leather always outlasts the soles! Decent waterproofing (or more weatherproof really) and easy to apply. My product came in the new packaging instead of the old tin style.

The media could not be loaded. I treated my boots two weeks ago with this. I rubbed it in then heated it a little until it melted, then rubbed it in again.I have worn these boots a lot since then and the water still mostly beads up on the surface. I also use it in the same way to rustproof knives and axes. It's good stuff and well worth the price.

What is there not to like. It's a wax that works well on leather to improve water resistance and also softens the material.

I bought a new pair of Iturri cold weather boots and wanted something to treat them with. The boots had a really bad squeak when walking due to the new leather. One treatment with this and the squeak has gone .
