2g phone, but that takes you to 2033.
Yes it's a 2g phone, but they are not switching off 2g until 2033.Bizarrely 3g will be switched off before this.So that means you have around 9 years left, before this phone becomes unusable.Highly likely you would have replaced it by then!So what is this phones main purpose? Ideal for older relatives.yes you have speed dial, but the main feature is the SOS button at the back.if your elderly relative has a fall or just needs help, they don't have to think about anything.Just press the red button and their loved ones will get a call/text and be notified. No bell or whistles, super simple and so ideal for the elderly. We have had a similar one before, and it was excellent in texting/ringing several family members when the phone user pressed the SOS button.10 days standby, and a charging cradle makes it easy to keep charged up.Simple and effective phone.

Great design
A useful and geriatric centric design. Large buttons, stand.. easy to use for most people of advanced age.

Built in obsolescence
This phone is only 2G, a slow data service which is being slowly switched off. So in a few years time the SMS will cease to function.Rather than having a USB-C charging socket, it has a dedicated charging stand, so you can't charge it if you are away from home. The instructions are not always clear and leave a lot to experience, experimentation and luck. I had to set some things up more than once before they "took".Sometimes, in part of the display , there is what looks like an entry field, but it isn't. As far as I can tell it's just decoration which goes away when you finally select the correct operation to start data entry. As a large button phone, presumably for the visually impaired or elderly users, it has a number of functions that, in my opinion, are unnecessary. An FM radio - nice but when are you going to listen to it? The instructions claim it has an image viewer and video player, but the screen is tiny. And so on.On the plus side the buttons are large and easy to use. Once programmed, the speed dial means up to 9 people are only two button presses away (On then a number key).I've not tested it, but the SOS button on the back looks like a good idea, sending a pre-programmed text message to up to 9 people. The battery is removable / replaceable.

Grandpa's New Best Friend
Just got this big button phone for my grandpa. Gotta say, it's pretty spot-on for what he needs. The buttons are huge - no squinting required. My grandpa can actually read the numbers without his glasses, which is a big win. The SOS button gives us all some peace of mind too.Setting up speed dial was a breeze. Now he can call us with just one button press. The charging dock is neat - no fiddling with tiny cables for him.Battery life seems decent. He only needs to charge it every few days, which is perfect 'cause he'd probably forget otherwise. It's not fancy - no internet, no apps, no camera. But that's kinda the point. It's a phone that's just a phone, and that's exactly what he wanted. The Bluetooth is a nice touch for his hearing aid, though he hasn't quite figured that out yet.Only gripe is the blue color - grandpa says it looks "too modern". But hey, can't win 'em all.If you've got an older relative who just wants to make calls without the fuss, this phone does the trick. It's simple, it's straightforward, and it gets the job done. Just don't expect it to do anything fancy.

Great little phone
For £26 it’s a great little phone and has everything needed for an elderly person.Nice large buttons and simple to use so can’t ask for anything else.

Seems to work well
I got this for my mum and it seems to be working well she loves it. The buttons are big enough to see and they light up to make them easier to see. The screen is also big enough and as it is a mobile you can take it anywhere with you.

Definitely Not Smart
As far as basic big button phones go , this is ok but far from perfect.I gave this to my 84 year old father who is technophobic at the best of times .You can text with this , store music and of course make calls . It has an alarm and a built in speaker .All good .It comes with a removable and rechargeable battery . It will not work with micro sims on their own , you have to use the adapter provided . It has two slots for sims which is fine but seems a bit at odds with the limited functionality of the rest of it.The biggest single drawback is that try as we may we could not get this to store telephone numbers in the device . This is something a pensioner that probably only uses it in emergencies really does need as very few people can remember other people's mobile numbers .This is a serious weakness. As such and overall this only deserves two stars .
