is great fun and the challenge of it is ssuperb
Short, two part review.Firstly the game. It's Timesplitters 2, that's all you really need to know. Absolute classic from the guys at Rare, plays seemlessly, is great fun and the challenge of it is ssuperb. Multiplayer fun and games out the wazzoo. Now the service from the supplier. No problems at all. Game arrived when they said it would. Game was in very good condition and plays just fine. Zero complaints all round. Now I just have the long slog of unlocking all the multiplayer shenanigans. Fun! :D

Timesplitters 2 is the greatest FPS game ever made
Timesplitters 2 is the greatest FPS game ever made. Forget CoD and BF, this game was created by many of the developers who created Goldeneye for the N64.Timesplitters 2 is their perfected version of Goldeneye. It's daft, it's silly, it's amazing to play with friends, and most of all it's FUN! There's so much to do in it, so many characters and levels and cheats to unlock, you can be playing this for months, which is amazing for a game from the PS2/Gamecube era.The game is a masterpiece, and that's pretty rare among'st shooters. For me it's the tip top of first person shooters, the GOAT!

Good fun but strange controls that put a dent on enjoyment.
Enjoyed the game thoroughly, despite the strange control scheme. WOuld recomend it to most gamers. Arrived promptly in good condition.

The worst game in the world ever
This is the biggest turkey of all time (and i've played south park and that's got turkeys in it). In fact I really don't like playing football games (i don't do football) and if this game and a football game were the last 2 games on earth I swear i would rather play the football game, forever. It was supposed to be an excellent game according to my brother. Do yourself a favour if you haven't played Eternal Darkness -Sanity's Requiem, please I urge you get that instead it is definately a better way to spend your money. In short I found this boring, tedious and plodding. I couldn't wait to get it out of the house. The only reason I gave this 1 star is the graphics are very good but don't make that the reason to be swayed to buy this game. In fact if there was a free copy coming with a million pounds as a bonus gift I would have to debate for a week before giving my answer.

Don't believe the hype
I bought this game almost (I say ALMOST) entirely from the media hype surrounding this game. What a dunce. I must be missing something here as this game is far from the "near perfect" FPS I was expecting. The graphics are far from brilliant; a further typical example of yet another game coded as to accomodate the inferior PS2 (which I owned up to 4 months ago). The audio fares slightly better, coming out in nice surround sound on my system. However the Story mode lacks any real depth, and the unlockable 'arcade' missions or 'challenges' are fun for a while but become repetative.Indeed, once again, I'm happy to acknowledge that maybe I've missed something along the way but this in NOT the best FPS on any games console by a long shot (certain ones I owned on the PS2 sometime ago provided a far more compelling experience). The multi-player maybe superb, but how many people are actually (in the real world) going to be able to play with three teammates on any type of regular basis ? A sad example of a game so hyped by the games media that nigh-on evrybody starts to believe it!

Below average but well presented FPS
Let me just start by saying I really wanted to like this game. I loved Goldeneye and like everyone else im still waiting for an FPS to match it. Unfortunately this comes nowhere near. Its nicely polished and very well presented. The menu is clear to understand and the in game graphics are very smooth and nicely detailed. Its also worth mentioning the cut-scenes done using the game engine are very good. Extremely fluid animation and some nice facial expresions are used.In single-player you have the story mode which takes the player through various times and settings. Although obviously trying to give the player some variety using different characters and weapons for each time zone, the single-player experience proves very short and underwhealming. To add longevity you can play the multiplayer mode featuring bots or take up the challenge modes. These are short mini game esque parts where you are rewarded with medals and can unlock more features. Unfortunately though there is not much incentive to do this and it just proves to be quite boring. The muli-player mode is also quite disappointing. My mates and I love a good multiplayer session on the cube. Were huge fans of mario kart and monkeyball. I put this on a few times but it never lasted more than half an hour before we'd get bored and change games. The multiplayer just seems really bland and with no substance to it. With some boring level design the tedium soon steps in and you'l want to turn the cube off. I know im going against the grain here but i just really didnt like this game and neither did my mates. Id suggest renting it out for a weekend before buying.I left it on the shelf gathering dust and would return to it every now and then hoping that it would grab me in some way just like the hype and reviews said. Sadly it never did and I ended up selling it on ebay to get some money back for a different game.If you want a good single player game with a good multiplayer aspect get monkeyball or mario kart.

\"A stonker of a time-travelling FPS with more than a whiff of GoldenEye. 92%.\" -- NGC Magazine
Manufacturer's Description
Prepare to battle through history as the evil TimeSplitters get ready to rise again. TimeSplitters 2 will improve on the original in every conceivable way, offering a more involving single player and co-operative story mode and featuring a complex narrative with multiple objective-based episodes and superbly animated cut-scenes. The game engine has been extensively upgraded to accommodate bigger, better backgrounds and special graphical effects while still providing the distinctive smooth fast paced action of the original. A completely rewritten animation system incorporating inverse kinematics brings even more lifelike movement and dynamism to a new collection of \"loveable rogue\" characters. TimeSplitters 2 will retain the unique MapMaker in an enhanced form, which opens up even more potential for user customised game scenarios.
