Great Little Radio
Very nice radio! Sound is great and it doesn’t require any unusual batteries.

Great for mom who needed a simple radio!
This is exactly what mom needed! She has some memory issues, so she tends to stick with products/designs she’s familiar with. It had to be portable as she likes to listen to the news “on the hour” throughout the day. We wanted something with a plug AND battery option (again, for portability - but with the option to plug in so we’re not constantly draining batteries). There are a lot of options for radios with rechargeable batteries. Those might be a great option for many, but someone with memory issues like my mom, she would just throw them out as she’s always done. It took a little searching to find one that fit the bill, but this is definitely it! Her previous radio was very scratchy and sounded worse when it was plugged in. The sound on this one is very clear. It’s easy to operate and I love that it takes smaller batteries, which tend to be a lot cheaper. I thought we’d be replacing them more often, but we’re still on the first set. The size is also perfect. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around, yet big enough so she can find it easily. She’s had zero complaints so far. A happy mom is a happy daughter, so I’m extremely happy with this purchase!

Grandmas gift
As a gift for a very elderly member of my family this Panasonic radio was perfect. Plug in or batteries was a necessary factor

BEST SIGNAL BY FAR! The radio I've been searching for FOR YEARS!
I have literally been trying for about 4 years to buy a simple radio which picks up a CLEAR AM/FM signal. I wanted something NON DIGITAL and with the options for AC or DC power sources. I LOVE this radio! It tunes in EASILY to all the radio stations I know about and a few which I didn't even know existed because so many recently produced radios just don't pick up a signal AT ALL! I wanted something portable and battery powered in case of a power outtage and you know, if I want to play this lil radio raheem at the park or something. The AC power cord is a big plus too though for daily use in my home. The sound is clear, and although it has just one speaker I can't imagine I'm missing out on anything (save a few Beatles songs which make heavy use of the right an left speakers). This radio is simple to operate, does everything I need and nothing I don't. The large display for tuning is easy to read, and there is a headphone jack should I want to enjoy private listening. Everyone should have at least one battery powered radio for weather or other emergency situations. This is great because it's good for that AND for daily listening. I only wish I could get my thank you through to an actual human at Panasonic for making this radio!

It's ok.
It has a good form factor. I like that it has two way power ac and aa battery. The volume knob is a little tricky to get to, it's kinda hidden behind the tuning knob. For me, it picks up a tricky fm station in the tampa area. But when I think about what I read in another review, i believe I am having the same issue. I only listen to one station, but it will occasionally just go away. Sometimes turning it off and back on will restore the sound, other times I have to play with the tuner and retune. Today, when the sound went out, neither trick worked. As I scanned all stations nothing was picking up. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the sound came back. Also the antennae extends and retracts, but it only goes left to right, would be nice to have forward and backwards.
