Strange Combo of US and Metric
Despite what some of the answers to questions say above, the female thread on the brass coupler is 5/16 inch and fits the threaded vertical top terminals on the eight new Trojan T105 6 volt batteries I just installed in my motorhome, The male stud on the brass coupler is also 5/16 inch thread, However, the wrench flats on the brass coupler and the nut are metric, A very strange combination, Works okay to enable the stacked connection of the multiple cables I have going to each battery terminal, Price is excessive,

Works like a brass bolt and nut should
I ordered two. Thy fit snugly into the dreaded GM side terminals providing a better contact than the flimsy OEM connectors. An added benefit is being able to attach accessories, and not have to use little vice grips to test or charge the battery.

Perfect Solution
Sorry. I have no idea what someone is on about wrong nuts. I can only assume they got a factory mistake.I had the classic problem of needing to make direct battery connection, in my case, to power amateur radio gear. This does the trick. You undo the factory bolt that runs through the battery contact. The bolt doesn't just fall out. There's a plastic keeper. I just pulled the bolt out with pliers. The adapter has a bolt the same length as needed to attach the contact. There is plenty of length on the back end to stack up any reasonable number of ring lug connectors. It's all brass and worked smoothly. Just what was called for. There's a small bonus The factory bolt had a persnickity little head that was difficult to work with. The adapter has a much larger position for the wrench. Much easier to deal with when it's time to change batteries, although you will, of course, have to loosen the nut and probably remove the attached connectors to do that.

Pretty straight forward
Does the trick. Installed easy as pie. 99 Astro van. Installed a subwoofer amp and needed to run a 4g wire. This allowed me to the job.

Soft brass
These only go in about 3 threads deep, very easy to over tighten and strip the bolt.

Finally an answer for GM side posts.
Worked perfect for gm’s stupid double side post terminals with the rubber boot, that gives you an accessory bolt. Besides using a bolt and nut this is the BEST OPTION.
