VTT OBD-Lock ODB Port Locking Tool (Non-GM Model) Version 2

A good quality OBD2 port lock made of billet aluminum that is anodized in red. I see some plastic made OBD port locks and would say to stay away from those. Some are even poorly 3D printed. This is one of the better ones out there. These have custom cut security screws that use a security bit to install and remove. Unlike typical security screws that use security bits that be bought at the local hardware store to use to unscrew, you cannot easily buy this custom security bit anywhere. It's good that the security screws change after so many sets of the locks are created. This can make sure that it's less likely for two people to have the same security bit for their lock. Someone won't be able to buy a lock and have a security bit that can unlock most of the locks. Like all locks, including the locks on the doors of your house, they are not undefeatable. With the right tools and enough time, anything can be defeated. The aim is to layer your security to make it harder or take more time for a bad actor. They are quite easy and fast to install. It even fits in recessed OBD ports. Just be careful when installing and removing so that you don't strip the threads or damage the nice anodized finish. The lock is made of aluminum so the threads can be stripped if they aren't lined up properly. They are on the pricey side, but not as expensive as another good OBD port lock I have. This OBD lock was easy to install and fits securely. It gives extra security for my car, especially when leaving it parked for long periods. The materials feel sturdy and the key mechanism works smoothly. A simple but effective anti-theft addition.

Amazing device to protect my vehicle. This delivers one more layer of protection on my vehicle. It's made of high grade aluminum and machined optimal. Solid but be careful with potentially stripping the screws. Also tighten by hand before using supplied wrench to fully tighten. Price is slightly higher but quality is optimal. The fact that these units are not reproduced with the same key is awesome. I'd suggest anyone to buy this to place another layer of protection for your pride and joy.

I would have given this presion engineered device 5 stars if it covered the plastic tab of the OBD2 connector it relies on to secure it in place, sadly it leave a window in the side that could easily be micro torched in an instant to allow a pair of pliers to pull the entire thing off. If they cover this hole I would buy Version 3.0 in a heartbeat. In the meantime I will endure purchasing the also expensive key operated locking port that indeed does expose that vulnerable plastic tab of the OBD2 connector to tampering and subsequent removal. If you have a RECESSED OBD2 connector, I DO RECOMMEND THIS, it is VERY HIGH QUALITY and precise engineering. I really liked it, but since my OBD connector is in open space, no bueno for my 2017 9th generation Honda Accord V 6 Sedan.

Fit well on my 370z. Seems secure and adds some peace of mind against key programming thieves. I wish there was an option for a duplicate key, I bought a second from the manufacturer but it was like $35 shipped.

I picked this up for some extra peace of mind for my 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid, and it fits well. Honestly, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. If someone manages to break into the car, they are definitely going to have a much harder time trying to access the OBD port. It feels like a solid deterrent. I also really appreciate the included case for the key bolt—it’s a nice touch to keep that piece secure when it's not in use. That said, I’m giving it 4 stars because of the installation experience. The price feels a little steep for what it actually is, and the install itself was a bit frustrating. The "T" tool doesn't really snap or lock into place firmly, so it feels a bit loose while you’re trying to maneuver it. A word of advice to anyone else buying this: Be extremely careful when handling the two tiny screws and the key bolt during installation. They are very easy to drop, and given how small they are, they’d be a nightmare to find if they fall into your floor mats or under the seat. Overall, I’d recommend it, just take your time with the setup!

While installation is relatively straightforward, it would have been nice to include at least a single page flyer describing it so that one doesn't have to go back and watch the video. Also while the milling of the actual lock is good the T-handle is terrible. The locking tool does not insert into the handle at all, no matter how you line it up or try different orientations, this is what you end up with. I am going to have to dremel it out to make it fit properly. Lack of attention to detail not worthy of the price they are selling it for.

My car was stolen (and recovered) a few months ago and it is equipped a push button start. I didn't realize how easy it is to clone the key fob for these cars and always kept my fobs in a Faraday box, figuring that I was safe from a potential thief. Its wasn't until I got my car back that I was told that thieves can also clone the fobs using the OBD II port. I looked at others before buying this one - it's pricey for sure, but worth it for the peace of mind as far as I'm concerned. I have a standard port on my car and it's mounted under the dash and not enclosed. I found installation easy, although at first it seemed a bit mysterious as to how this thing stays in place. Once you start trying to put it on it becomes pretty apparent though. Take note that if you have the type of port connector that is enclosed this may not fit. What I like about this lock is that it's metal and the fact that it uses an actual key, not just an allen key like a lot of others use. Anyone can get an allen key of the correct size but this is a unique key and not all of the locks come keyed the same - so it would be very difficult for someone to get a hold of the key. This lock completely encloses and protects the OBD II port and I can see no way to remove it without destroying the port connector, which, of course, would render the port useless anyway. I had no idea that there was such a thing as an OBD port lock and I'm glad I found this one. Highly recommended.

Excellent quality easy to install and uninstall. Used in my Volvo and fit right on no messing around. I bought a cheaper lock to compare and the other was difficult to install with small screws that were a pain. Also on the cheaper model the “screw locks” are simple to get past as they use a security screw that you can get the key for anywhere. This unit is a great unit but a little pricey. 3 months on and love it more and hate the cheap one worse.

Ik heb bewust een niet-GM model gekocht voor mijn bmw, maar helaas past deze er niet op. VTT OBD-lock ziet er verder goed uit, maar helaas niet de juiste pasvorm.

Prompt delivery, very impressed with quality , well worth spending the difference compared to the cheaper OBD port locks on the market . Easy to fit even when working in the footwell . Took about three minutes to fit after watching a YouTube video - I would definitely recommend watching the video first for some really useful tips . Good sized window sticker as well to act as a visible deterrent
