I really wasn't expecting this light fitting to be as nice as it is. I had visions of the 'crystal' drops looking very plasticky but they're surprisingly clear and sparkly and the metalwork doesn't look cheap and nasty either. An earth wire is provided in the box which is a welcome change from a lot of fittings that come from abroad, together with a low-energy lamp which is a good addition. I'm keeping the fitting to put up in our new house but I asked my husband (an electrician) to check it over to make sure that it will be easy to fit and he seems quite happy with it. It would make a nice feature in a hallway or small bedroom, for example, as it's not too big or 'in your face' and looks more expensive than it is.Happy to say that I'd have this in my house and I'm fussy!

Well, it's a lot nicer than I expected. I thought it might be quite lightweight plastic or something but it isn't. It's actually heavier than expected. I don't know what the material is it's made from as it doesn't say in the listing other than crystal but I'm sure it's not crystal. It does appear to be acrylic but Definately not glass either but it is thick, substantial and very nicely made.The metal part at the top is light weight and there's options to hang it as a lightshade would hang or fitted to the ceiling like a full light fitting. This has 2 main wires - live and neutral. The earth wire is supplied seperately.It can also be hung as a lamp shade using existing wiring however the ring to hang it is larger than the usual fittings so you may need to purchase a ring size adapter depending on the size of your bulb fittingIt also comes with a bulb included in the boxIt is a lovely light and i will say it's not overpriced in my opinion.
